- Good covers of licensed songs. (I liked "My Favorite Things" and "Ain't No Mountain High Enough")
- Akira Yamaoka crossovers (awakening, and tant pis pour toi...
)
- more JAKAZiD
- a normal jun song.

Hmm...
How about less use of pop singles that nobody really wants to play in the first place. No one has ever thought to themselves "A new DDR? Oh boy, I sure hope Justin Beiber's latest hit is in it!", so please stop adding songs that are just licensing garbage. Plus, was THIS really necessary to include in the mix?
I would also like to see a new category for fan-made songs and charts, something which I had hoped would be considered for DanceDanceRevolution (PS3). I'm sure there are others who would look forward to user-generated content on a DDR console release.

Can you rename this to "DDR Wishlist Thread" or something? The title is really awkward.
○Good charts for new songs. DDR I and DDR II new songs were pretty much horrible. Why are they so horrible but then DDR X2 was fabulous? I really don't get it.
○A NAOKI song that is like BURNIN' THE FLOOR/D2R/not that Pop-ish crap that he has been making lately.
○For the love of god, no more jun boss songs.
○More danceable licensed music.

I'd like to see jun boss songs as long as they're NOT happy hardcore/eurobeat/anything happy songs with charts that are trying hard to be hard.

Pretty much. jun should keep up with that rather than make her supposed normal songs as boss songs.
Heck I don't mind another SUPER SAMURAI.

From what I've heard (on this very forum in fact), jun was going through depression when she made Hades and SUPER SAMURAI, so I wouldn't hope for any more of them. As for making her "normal" songs bosses, I think the chart makers are more to blame for that.

I'd personally like to see them revert back to the other songwheel with banners instead of cd jackets.
This.A new 2MB remix / an Akiba Koubou remix

I want more videos like She is my Wife and Dazzlin' Darlin' that make you fail the song to watch the video's epicness.
And more Tatsh. And a Touhou song for a boss because that's just so much better than a jun song.

XD i love Classic Naoki don't get me wrong, those songs that's listed are always great. but most.. don't get me wrong i like how he shifted and started making music that sounds different from one another. i mean D2R and that song IIDX 9th mix i forgot it's name but he did it with Beforu and it basicly kinda got old. that's how sota fujimori became my favortive bemani artist rather then being stright up naoki. XD
so all i can say is he needs to basicly bring back some of that classic flare while not losing touch with what he found from Hottest party~DDR-X2 (CS) to even DDR (ps3)

I'd actually like to see Tatsh go back to doing stuff like Red Zone, not that anime/touhou junk.
That's the point, chewi.
People coming in would go "What do I want to see? Zukin tits, yesssssssss", but the intellectuals would go "Somewhere over the rainbow for DDR III please."
It's just a thread title. DDR Wishlist is just childish and doesn't attract attention.
It's an inside joke.

I was directed to this thread by AeronPeryton, so you can blame him for what will likely follow.
I'll just blurt out what *I* would do:
Dance Dance Revolution (no silly one word stuff here).
2012
Wii U / Xbox 360 / PS3
World-wide release date (or as close as possible; within a week or so would be decent).
60+ songs. 20-30 licences and 30-40 Konami Originals.
Licences would be a mix of recent hits (to help with sales to more "casual" gamers) and some more "hardcore" dance and pop.
"Adventure" Mode: Some type of career-type mode.
Freeplay Mode: Standard mode. Select play-style, character, song.
Quickplay Mode: Go straight to the song select screen and pick a song while using up or down to change difficulty.
Party Mode: Randomised jukebox for parties with options for purely using licensed tracks (good for casuals) or just KO's or all songs at random, with the possibility of other options. No lifebar or failing.
Online play (possibly) and weekly DLC.
Challenges: Essentially like things we've seen before, but less vital to playing the game. Mostly just for people who like to get 100% completion and a great way to give the game extra lifespan. Stuff like "Play each song at least once on any difficulty", "Get an E ranking on 1 song", "Get an A ranking on 1 song", "Get 10 Goods on 1 song", "Get a Great Full Combo on 5 songs on Difficult or higher", "Get a Perfect Full Combo on 1 song". Some of these could be alternative ways to unlock certain things.
The game would be designed in a way where you still unlock most, if not everything, just by playing Freeplay Mode. I haven't decided if it would be best to go for a Dance Points system, with a shop, or just have stuff unlock as you play. Both have their pros and cons and would benefit people in different ways.
Appearance and sorting would use the "coverflow" style, but add options for different sorting. Things like*:
Source: Default sort. Current game -> Imports -> DLC. Licences first sorted alphabetically and then the KO's alphabetically. So if you were playing DDR II (2013) it would have DDR II licences -> KO's, then the DDR (2012) licences ->KO's and finally any DLC you own.
Alphabetically: Self-explanatory.
Artist: Sorts songs by artist with auto-generated text using a generic cover. Opening any artist folder will show any songs you own by that artist in alphabetical order.
Album: Each song (on-disc or otherwise) will include the album the song is from. If the song is a KO then it will use a cover adapted from the art of the game it is from, so DDR KO's will use art from that game, DDR II will have art from that game and licences will use art from their respective albums.
Most Played: Self-explanatory.
Favourites: You can mark songs as favourites and only they will be visible in this sort.
*This list is not exhaustive.
DLC:
Something I've always felt that Konami were really weak at. We are in the age of massive harddrives and powerful broadband. It would certainly help with people who don't feel quite as catered to with the songs in each release. It'd also give Konami the opportunity to make a little extra money while keeping the fanbase ticking over until the next release. Also, it would be a great way for Konami to distribute old KO's without relying on on-disc Revivals or taking up valuable harddrive space. Surely I'm not the only one who would LOVE to buy old classics like Brilliant2U, B4U, D2R and many, many others and have them all in one place?
Imports:
For a small re-licensing fee, you can import songs from the previous game into the new one by downloading it to your harddrive. The songs are then added to your total songlist.
Motion+/Balance Board / Kinetic / Move Support:
Of course this would be a lot of extra work, but Konami could customise each version of the game with a mode that takes advantage of each systems motion control. How in depth it could/would be would have to be seen. It would certainly be a nice addition alongside the standard control style though, but the latter MUST take precedence since it defines DDR as a game. These modes would be a great way to draw in the casual/Just Dance crowd though.
I might have some more ideas, but I think that I've wasted enough time for now.

You mean something along the lines of this?
I admit that I was a bit shocked when I heard this. This is definitely old-school Naoki, with none of the generic love lyrics on his newer songs (Let's Get Away is more of an inspirational song).

I'd like to see more variety on the commisioned artists, bringing some of them from the other BEMANI games.
Also bring back RevenG and the other aliases

Also this. Well, most of the NAOKI post-SN songs have been arranged by different people (even songs credited to just NAOKI), so I'd like to see NAOKI doing songs by himself again.○For the love of god, no more jun boss songs.

For licenses:
-Maybe spread outside the usual American pop artists for once. Tightrope by Janelle Monae has one of the best bass lines ever, and could easily be stepped to, for example.
-Some Kpop or other Asian pop would be nice.
For originals:
-Revivals would probably rope in some more fans. Seeing as how every former DDR player grew up on Boom Boom Dollar (I know it's Dancemania, but hey), they should put in more older songs that aren't X-cuts
For bosses:
-Easier bosses, maybe a jun song that's only a 12-13 for the kiddies rather than a 14 song? To balance, harder ones that would finally reach a 20.

I'd like to see Konami fulfill their "100 DLC songs" promise for the 360 and PS3 versions. I think we only have 33 so far.
The great thing about modern games is that they're never too late to save, through patches and new content. The main problem with the aforementioned games, aside from the lack of DLC, is all the weird stuff they added that gets in the way of gameplay. I'd like to see a "Classic Appearance Package" that hides the arrow chains and groove trigger stuff, reduces the size of the arrow explosions, makes the step judgements more prominent, and returns the letter grading to its stricter style (E for failing, AA for 95%, etc), instead of its current, more lenient form.
Alternately, they could release a downloadable DDR S+ type game that just provides a basic interface with the core DDR building blocks (Single, Versus, Double, Edit, Nonstop) and a couple songs, and then put out a ton of DLC (with the already released content compatible, of course).
Also, DLC should be released individually rather than in packs. I've downloaded every pack except SuperNOVA pack 1, because I don't want Fascination MaxX popping up in Club Mode. That song just isn't feasible on a soft pad.

^ I know that DDR has done some very weird DLC pack designs in the past. My preference would be for slightly discounted packs with the ability to purchase each song individually.
So if there was a NAOKI pack with Brilliant2U, B4U and D2R in it for $5.50, you could just buy B4U for $2 if you wanted to.
