If Tyma logic is correct and we add that there can be TWO or more boss songs (simply put, more obstacles), EVERY SONG that is ONLY on Extra Stage is a boss song, beginning from Max 300. Other than that, from DDRMAX and onward, we had official boss songs. Is PARANOiA Survivor and PARANOiA Survivor Max boss songs? Not necessarily. They are the last things to unlock in Extreme.

Are there four boss songs in SuperNOVA? Yes. Are there six boss songs in SuperNova2? Yes.

Do ANY of the songs between 2nd mix and 5th mix count as any boss songs? Most likely no and I don't give a f*ck.

I think I see where you're going, Tyma. DDR X2 had no official "final stage" song, as the extra stage conditions were modified from DDR X such that a player simply had to AA their entire song set to get it, no songs specified. Deltamax is available to play from the start of one's credit, so its status as "that song to beat" is entirely honorary. (not to mention a moot point since out here players still can't fathom anything harder than So Deep)

Still, even for the players who differentiate boss songs as more that "the hardest songs in the game" most will approve of any songs highlighted in red as boss songs. In the international version of DDR X2, Kimono Princess and Roppongi evolved are the only songs to receive this treatment, and only during extra stage / encore extra stage. Replicant D Action songs do not receive this treatment, I have checked.

Well, before the charts went up to 10, the 8s and 9s were considered boss songs; particularly if the Light difficulty was 5 or higher.

DDR 1st:
-LITTLE BITCH
-TRIP MACHINE
-PARANOiA
-PARANOiA MAX (DIRTY MIX)
*I believe in miracles (PSX only)

DDR 2nd:
-SP-TRIP MACHINE -JUNGLE MIX-
-TRIP MACHINE ~luv mix~
-PARANOiA KCET -clean mix-
-LOVE THIS FEELIN' (was only playable as final stage on HARD song group/Link Mode or PSX only)
*IF YOU WERE HERE
*GET UP'N MOVE
*BRILLIANT 2U (Orchestra-Groove)
(IYWH and GUM were more like sub-boss stages; B2U OG required two AAs to get to, one of them being MAKE IT BETTER (So-REAL MIX)... bear in mind, that it was not perfectly synched, AND on 1x Flat!)

Club Version:
-GENOM SCREAMS
-RUGGED ASH
-DEEP IN YOU
-ska a go go
-LUV TO ME *disco mix*
-gentle stress
-GRADIUSIC CYBER

Dancing Stage TKD (or was it DCT?):
-CELEBRATE NITE
-SEXY PLANET

DDR Solo 2000
*SUPER STAR (arguably)
-PARANOIA EVOLUTION
-DROP OUT
-NONSTOP C
-NONSTOP G
-NONSTOP I

DDR 3rd Mix:
-butterfly (UPSWING MIX)
-CAPTAIN JACK (GRANDALE REMIX)
-DYNAMITE RAVE
-AFRONOVA
-DEAD END
-PARANOiA Rebirth
-GRADIUSIC CYBER (AMD-G5 MIX)
-La Senorita virtual

DDR 4th Mix:
-FURUHATA'S THEME
-SAINT GOES MARCHING (REMIX)
-TRIP MACHINE CLIMAX
-ORION.78 (AM-Euro Mix)
-LEADING CYBER
-ORION.78 -civilization mix-

DDR 4th Mix PLUS:
-RHYTHM & POLICE (KOGG3 MIX)
-WONDA (SPEED K MIX)
*MY FIRE
*BOYS
*Stomp to my beat

DDR 5th Mix:
-AFRONOVA PRIMEVAL
-PARANOiA ETERNAL
-CAN'T STOP FALLIN' IN LOVE (SPEED MIX)
-Romansu no Kamishima
-DXY!
-Healing Vision -Angelic Mix-
-B4U glorious style
*Healing Vision
*MATSURI JAPAN
*sana morlette ne ente
*HOT LIMIT
(those last 4 were more like "sub-boss" songs, but still)

DDRMAX:
-FLASH IN THE NIGHT
-SO DEEP (PERFECT SPHERE REMIX)
-DO YOU REMEMBER ME
-MAX 300
-exotic ethnic
(and yeah, HVAM and O.78cm too)

DDRMAX 2:
-BREAK DOWN!
-Burning Heat (3 Option Mix)
-Sweet Sweet v Magic
-MAXX UNLIMITED
-KAKUMEI

Some people consider the IIDX Boss group, bag, CARTOON HEROES (Speedy Mix) and SAKURA as part of Extreme's "boss songs" group too, even though they aren't red in the song group. It's all a matter of perspective during those mixes. Not a lot of songs (apart from 2nd Mix) had many prerequisite requirements; EXTREME is the mix that truly redefined the term "boss song." MAX 1/2 just had "Extra Stage" and "One More/Encore ES."
