"DINGDONG♥HEARTS"
Press Release

Mildly surprised that no one linked the official press release on the matter.

Just when I think Activision can't possibly get any lower they pull this. The only games they got now are COD and WOW. Can't play COD because I have a PS3 and servers are "too hard to fix", and I don't play WOW. Activision, when did you became the Grinch of gaming? Honestly I would be stunned if they have not gone under by this time next year.

‎In case you aren't keeping track, that's now five studios ( Infinity Ward, Treyarch, Raven, Sledgehammer, and now Beachhead) focused on the Call of Duty franchise alone.

COD won't last much longer at this rate. At that point in time, all Activision will have left is Blizzard, unless

Should we not release a major title from Blizzard this year, we would expect for planning purposes, to launch a minimum of two Blizzard titles in 2012.

Guess Activision is doomed. They just keep milking.

I hope the last DLC song is Through The Fire And Flames. (Period)

Hopefult, retailers will panic, and I'll be able to pick up a set of cheap Xbox Band Hero / Legends Of Rock instruments for under £50, now.

Most of the comments on here don't surprise me really; I've come to expect them from people on the internet.

Most of the people on the official forums and the Facebook group are sad. Believe it or not people did genuinely like the series and I know plenty that even preferred it to Rock Band and feel that Warriors of Rock really brought the series back on track.

The sale of Harmonix and also now this news shows that music and rhythm is going through the same sort of decline that it did with DDR in the early to mid 2000's; the latter only holds on because Konami won't let it die and are focusing more on current mainstream hits to help the series sell. That and the fact that they still have their own in-house music to pad the game out with.

Again, I am quite a fan of Guitar Hero and even surprised myself by playing and enjoying it more than DDR and other games. It will be missed.

There are hints that Activision are just going to sit on the series for a while, maybe a few years, until it could prove profitable again. Here's hoping.

We're allowed to hate Guitar Hero.

DJ Hero is a shame, but I'd rather all the people involved in both series leaving Activision, and making music games somewhere that has a better understanding of what makes a good music game, and what makes a bad music game.

"o_O?"
I can appreciate DJ Hero, even if I hate the music.

Guitar Hero and its mostly-idiotic-fanbase can burn for all I care.
The Heavens! The Earth! And a million squirrels call to me! Huh? What...they don't?

"Magic Parade with me!"
I expected Guitar Hero to fall out for a while. DJ Hero was the big hit for me. I love DJ Hero, and it was gaining some major steam. At the least, it won't be milked to the bone...It's still depressing news for me, though. Cry

I never said that you weren't. As I said, I've come to expect it. Though I prefer it when people can intelligently criticise rather than blatantly bash.

I've honestly had more fun playing many Guitar Hero games then I have any recent DDR game. Good European releases, online features, big setlists and the first company to give the Wii DLC and decent music games really helped. The three Hottest Party games had none of that.

What's so idiotic about us please?

I find this ironic considering that people used to, and probably still do, hate DDR. People often call DDR 'girly' and 'gay' and I will defend both games because I have enjoyed playing both and I know that neither of them are anything like people like to generalise they are.

I think that it is a shame for any series to die, especially when it isn't as bad as everyone claims it is. I have grown tired of gaming especially because of all drama that goes along with it and games like Guitar Hero were some of the only ones still keeping my interest.

its funny since he didn't attack you directly, you take the criticism as if its to you, and then try to defend it.

are you a furry

I am well aware of what the criticism was aimed at, thank you.

Whether I was a furry or not, that has nothing to do with this.
