Too many remixes.

Lots of ethnic instrumentation. Which is good.

Good stuff:

Kagachi (really good!)
Masinowa
Junaguni Ruins
Omifushisama
Sazaragi
Charcol's Sword Dance (a remix of Nyoah's, isn't it?)
Trisagion (a remix of Blind Justice)

Bad stuff:

Nunc omnia rident (sounds like not much work was put into it)
Wenkamui (the vox are gross)
The Sealer (I just can't figure out what is going on with the harmonies)

Depressed that Raison d'etre didn't get a true full version. Goddammit Zektbach.

Er, I wouldn't consider any of these "remixes" more than they are different arrangements. Trisagion isn't so much a "remix" as it is a variation on a theme; the rest of it is different though it does borrow the interlude from Blind Justice. And while yes, this is just about the 5th distinct version of ZETA yet, it's also one of the best. Tongue

The Sword Dances just seem to be the same kind of contemporary piano pieces that TOMOSUKE likes to do from time to time; Macuilxochitl and his remix of Harmony and Lovely are also in the same vein.

I'd say the only part of the album that didn't deliver was Raison d'etre; just an extended intro, which is great, but for a song that shoved about 5 distinct sections in a 2 minute song, there was definitely a lot more to expand upon there. It got Ristaccia'd.

REVIEW:

Some of the songs like Masinowa and L'avide are really good. However the album has a good amount of ok stuff. This is the biggest issue I have with it. It's just ok with a few diamonds in the rough. I feel like it is being more dramatic, but going away from what made Zektbach well... Epic. Also the Orchestra versions of songs are not as powerful as on "The Epic Of Zektbach -Ristaccia-". Almost like they are missing something. If you loved the 1st CD, you'll like this one. However when put side by side, -Ristaccia- kills -Masinowa-.

Also just an extended intro to Raison d'etre!?

I think we need another Blind Justice or I am going to cry.
Zektbach, there was no reason for that Raison d'etre extension.

Yeah, I loved L'avide. Wenkamui and Sazaragi are also good pieces but a little bit on the safe side. I wished there were some more pieces like Raison d'etre.
