If you guys want perfect rips then you can always sniff the decoded bitstream being fed to the MP3 chip on the digital I/O for every song.

Someone else can do that, I can't be bothered and don't have appropriate hardware. In the interim I can provide analogue rips if they are of any use (but I won't bother if they aren't).

Quote: Mercury
Don't analogue mixes simply store the songs as standard CD audio tracks? (hence, 'analogue')

Fair point! Though someone else can do that.

I believe The 7 Jump is safe in it's title of the worst DDR song.

I believe "Let Them Move" would like a word.

Clearly, this is a highly subjective argument. Also, honestly? None of those songs hold a candle to Chotto Kiitena Zanshin-na mix.

You're welcome. Hope they are of some use to somebody.

The audio *might* need re-normalising (I haven't touched it), since I pulled down the recording level to make sure there was no clipping (similarly, I didn't bother standardising how much silence was in the lead in and lead out of each song, this was a rough and ready job). The original Audacity tracks I've provided are 24bit, so it should re-normalise well (since the MP3s will be down-mixed to 16bit when exporting).

I'm not what most of that means; but from somebody who is listening to them just to listen to them, they sound great. Smile

Gotenks: Unnormalised = each song has a potentially different volume level

Pumpkinetics: Why hate on Chotto Kittena? It somehow manages to be strangely satisfying at the same time as sounding bad. (And I'm talking about the one in Beatmania, not the original)

Or unnormalised will mean a set of audio files' volume will differ from the other sets.

I will compare Chi's audio file volume against the other official simfiles just to give an indication if there's a huge difference in volume.

There's a difference, I leave it to y'all whether it is significant or not. The recording balance was unchanged through the whole set (and also EM2), so they are consistent as a set.

In terms of perceived volume, in Winamp it has a calculated replay gain for the tracks of between -5.87dB (Byul - everything is -7.18dB or lower) and -11.18dB (Tell Me, Tell Me) for the tracks (and an album gain of -9.29dB). When analysing the existing 3rdMIX set Winamp calculates a replay gain of between -7.46dB and -10.81dB (album gain = -9.36dB).

I haven't saved replay gain info to the files (though I have to my own personal set as they are for listening to Tongue). I don't think it's used in Stepmania anyway, is it?

(TL;DR: I don't personally think there's much of a difference in volume, but purists may beg to differ)

You'll certainly need to alter the offset of the simfiles whatever happens, as the lead-in will be different for sure.

If you're uploading the EM2 simfiles as well, do you still need the clean-ripped graphics?

"Toasty!"
DDR 3rdMIX Ver.KOREA2 simfiles --- http://www.mediafire.com/?9p41m46sb6as40r

- combined Ver.KOREA1 and Ver.KOREA2 exclusive songs
- at last, it uses real cut mp3 recorded from direct feed in game w/o announcer, 320 kbps quality (all mp3s credit to Chi)
- re-ripped banners and bg images, all resized to standard size.
- re-ripped stepcharts from DDR 3rdMIX Ver.KOREA2 file.
- all songs' sample start are accurate based on this vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stRmtdNxno4

All simfiles are synced based from the syncing method used for many downloadable official DDR simfiles here in z-i-v.

DS EuroMIX2 files are up with all the line out audio normalised.

Android, what's the native resolution of the backgrounds? 640x480 is only used if the game is newer than SuperNOVA or if the game backgrounds are natively 640x480.

I believe the game uses 320x240 backgrounds? Can you please supply us with those instead?

All system 573 DDR games run 320x240 ingame fyi (PlayStation native resolution in other words)

Personally, I wouldn't settle for anything other than unedited direct rips in PNG format.

...but the EM2 files I've uploaded already use the EM2 direct rip backgrounds? Tongue

Bump: Chi, if you could get rips of the EM1 exclusives, that'd be great.

Yep, can do. Will see if I can get time to do it today, but most likely will try and do it tomorrow.

It'll be the same as my last rips - i.e. will probably need normalising.
