Your DDR Simfiles/Edits to put on our machine!

I was going through my folder to make more edits and I was like... "There is no DXY in here... Thats weird..." lol Ya I am going to be working on some more this weekend. I hope to get 15 on the machine at least this week, which I have I think like 8 right now.

When you are saying "on the machine" you means "on your memory card" ?

Alright. I stumbled upon this thread while searching for X2 info and the like, and it reminded me of how much I liked collecting and making and edit data.
I'm going to share a couple edits that I have for EXTREME. Unfortunetly, I've lost all of my own personal edits, but I have a backup of the ones I used on a trip I took back a few years ago. Some of these come from AaroninJapan, some come from various Japanese Websites, and some come from friends. All in all, credit goes to the creators that made them (granted, they aren't named), but they should be fun for an extreme machine.

I'll include images in this format: SONGNAME - EDIT "EDITNAME". Step difficulty I can't do, as I haven't played these in a really long time (assume these are for advanced players.) Files are in *.mc and *.mcs format, to which you can use PSXGameEdit (found here: http://moberg-dybdal.dk/psxge/psxge160.zip) to create a memory card with these on, or you can use the original Dexdrive software. Not all edits are crazy difficult, either. Some are fun, some are pretty ridiculous, and some are challenging. Reply if you want me to post more, I'll only post three here for now, since I have so many.



Oh yeah, I remembered a couple of ones that are a bit challenging if you want. In the extreme folder, look for the edits labeled "BMR", as those are the famously hard versions of steps for songs that Bemaniruler did, before EXTREME was announced.

I just finished BemaniRuler's V For Extreme. It required me to edit parts out and trim some others down but it is finally finished! Damn thats gonna be hard!

@ness151 Thank you. I will have to look through some of those. I dont have a dex drive so how can I view them on say stepmania or something? Its very hard for me to read off the images you provided sadly.

I'm doing something called Project Remix (actual name yet to be announced). I'm basically creating Beginner-Challenge charts for each and every DDR song out there.

I guess when I upload those, I'll send you the links.

if you can find the program "DDREditMax2", it'll output *.mc and *.mcs files as *.bms files, and from then you can convert it to a *.dwi or a *.sm file.

If you were in Iowa, I'd loan you my dexdrive, lol. The thing comes in handy. Also, if anybody wants the linkdata program to link 5th mix edit/score data to max-extreme, I can upload that as well.

When you mentioned earlier about reading off of the images, I remember doing that when I was making edit data for MaxUS, along with 5th mix.

Oh yeah, if anybody wants me to dump the 5th Mix Edit Data contest stepcharts, I can do that too. Just say it and I'll do it.

Ok well I tend to do "different" edits that have a different take on a chart. I rarely do anything harder than a 9 but here's a few examples:

I updated the first post with what we have so far. I am going to do a few more today... I think I will do 2 X Specials and 2 User charts. I did not have the chance to do any over the weekend and I wont be able to do any this weekend either because I am picking up my Drummania machine.

Also i'm curious about V being a 13. It has to be full of stream + crossovers then.
A can make sence but 14 seems a bit to high even with a long 191bpm run, so i'm curious too.

Ya... Think Ya Better D is not very difficult. I gave it a 9.
V I thought would be a 14, but in action it feels more like Summer Speedy Mix from ITG2, so a 13.
A Is definitely a 14. After the speedup its very hard. 16th's on a 191 BPM stream is VERY hard. I have not even been able to pass it yet, I will be able to soon though.

Ya videos very soon. I did not really record edits today either, I just have been very low on stamina lately... I promise I will get to them soon though! I will post them on the first post as well. Also for our special DDR event I will have a poster on the wall explaining what the edits are and who they are made by. I would expect them to be played frequently on that day.

I've also played with the thought of making a simfile challenge chart for Destiny Lovers, but I just have a quick question...what makes a "good" edit? Mine tend to follow the music very closely, and I try to work a variety of patterns into things, but stuff like that can be pretty subjective. What would you say is a good guideline to follow for making "quality" charts?

I will have to check some of yours out. I am taking a bit of a break now because of some other stuff going on this week. I have not forgot about this project though, many files are downloaded onto my computer already that I still have to take a look at.

I am going to be putting a few more edits on the machine before our event on Saturday (20, Novemeber) so I will let you guys know what gets on the machine in time. I'm just thinking about something Kon.
I made some edits for some friends, i asked them a top3 (of their favorite song that i could edit).
I listen the first song. If i could make an edit for this one i did it and stoped here. If i couldn't i go to the next song.

Anyway, i'm sure you have some favorite song, even on the limited list that you have.
So you can ask an edit on it and if people are feeling to do it, they could try. Then you'll pick your favorite chart ;)

Ahah did you plan to make your event the 20 november ? That's smart :p
