DDR U.S. Championship - Online Rounds Discussion

Just when I think this Championship (If you still want to call it that) could not possibly get any dumber, they pull this.

Daiz, If I was in your shoes, I would of dropped out as well. What's the point of being part of something big when nobody knows what the hell they are doing or going to do. It's such an unorganized mess now that it would not supreise me if half of the players DDRopped out.

I wonder if Konami will allow us to play on a DDR game at home. I understand that Stepmania would be cheating, but playing Max 300 for example on a PS2 should be fair enough to playing it on a cab right? I'm saying this because my Afterburners work so much better then the mats on the arcade in my town.

@Mercury Profit would be nice.

Seeing how they haven't even posted the rules, I'm not sure what to expect. What about games with varying score differences? Max-Extreme vs Supernova-X2? Is the Wii version much different in its scoring?

Neither the first nor second e-mail work for me, I just get failure notifications immediately.

I haven't gotten anything past the initial Round 2 email asking for my information. It says I'm scheduled to go tomorrow/Tuesday but I have no idea what the hell is going on.

Hopefully next year they actually plan the damn tournament out, seeing as it looks like it's pretty much the biggest fail Konami has ever produced.

Here is some information I just got on Round 2. Sounds really...lame.


Hello DanceDanceRevolution Round 2 Finalists! Round 2 of the DanceDanceRevolution tournament will be starting this week. This part of the tournament will be held online.
All Round One Finalist will record your performance and take a picture, with timestamp, of their final score. They will submit the video, with timestamp and the picture via email. Only one submission per individual Player will be accepted. Videos will be reviewed for validity, and compared with pictures of participant and score Results will be based on the score of each players submission.

Round two: starts Monday November 22nd, 2010 and ends Saturday November 27th, 2010. All video entries must be received by Midnight November 27rd, 2010.

Round Three: begins Monday November 29th, 2010 and ends Wednesday December 1st, Finalist will be notified by email if they have been invited to participate in the Finals All video entries must be received by Midnight December 1st, 2010.

The Finals: begin Thursday December 2nd, 2010 and ends on Sunday December 5th, 2010. All video entries must be received by Midnight December 5th, 2010.


Participants will again, record themselves playing and take a picture, with timestamp, of their final score. They will submit the video, with timestamp and the picture via email. Only one submission per individual Player will be accepted.


First through third place winners will be notified by email notification.
Use date/time stamp on camera for validation. A picture will be taken using a digital camera with date/time stamp on camera, also for validation and uploaded onto the computer.


EDIT:: I emailed them and you are REQUIRED to use a home version of the game.
