Hidamari is awesome. I gotta get to watching Hoshimittsu (third season). Also, toss Hidamari Sketch on my previous Best list.
I do agree that people claiming High School of the Dead (and Amagami SS, to a lesser extent) is the best EVAR is overboard, considering it's only (as of this writing) TWO EPISODES OLD!

Welp, found the worst anime ever: Mars of Destruction. I'd seen it referred to as the worst on numerous occasions, but I only just saw it the other day. They basically try to cram storyline, character backstory, and a couple fight scenes into one twenty-minute episode, and it DOES NOT WORK.
Also, two minutes in, a cute girl gets her head lasered off. I'd be upset if the lack of animation quality wasn't so humorous. It wasn't so much that her head gets cut off or vaporized so much as it just DISAPPEARS within the course of about two frames.
Plus, it's boring as hell, if you watched the flash I linked to, you've already seen the most exciting part of the whole thing. What follows is a shitty fight scene, ten minutes of talking, and an even shittier fight scene. They also try to explain that each agent of their organization is the best at their particular fighting style and it shows them using things like lightsaber ripoffs, laser tonfas, and what-have-you. Two minutes later, O HAY WERE USING GUNS AGAIN.
It's not even "so-bad-it's-good", it's just bad.

I just finished watching the first episode. It failed to keep my attention. From what I can tell, it's a private school where the council do stuff around the city. I really do hope the last episode either has that puppet catch on fire or reveal that she's been in a coma all of this time and dies.
