I wish the game wasn't as linear as it is though...
Well, you start opening up chances for side-quests in Chapter 11.

Also, Vanille & Sazh: BRO-TEAM

Speaking of them, I'm stuck fighting Enlil & Enki...not good since Vanille is usually my Medic & Sazh is usually my Ravenger

If you mess up Sazh and Venille, You can kill all the mobs in the forest, save at the save point right before the boss, then load the game you've just saved, and all the mobs will respawn, so you can go back and clear them out again, until you max out their stats.

Or you could save alot of time by just switching the weather, the mobs respawn there as well.
To beat Enlil and Enki, start off with the Tide Turner Paradigm, auto assign all status debuf's and poison to Enlil, then beat down. Always heal if you have any damage and one of them uses Bellow. Took me two tries with maxed out stats. Also, have the Belladonna Wand equipt and leveled up, it helps with the Sabotour's spells.

Sazh has guns.

But seriously, cali_surfer is right. If the Ravager/Medic setup doesn't work, change it. Another important thing to remember is that survivability is more important than doing more damage. Even if a certain paradigm has a low damage output, if it has a higher chance of keeping you alive, it's a better idea than paradigms like Slash & Burn.

I'm thinking I'm going to have to bite the bullet and go next-gen just for this game. I used to be such a Final Fantasy fan, and it just might be the thing to make me sink the funds into a PS3.

I wonder how many Summons on FF XIII ?
Are they very useful like on FF X or useless like on FF XII ?

I think there's six summons, one for each character. I don't use summons very often, so I don't know how well they do damage-wise, but I know after you use one, it fully heals your teammates, including KOed ones, so it works as an emergency technique if your whole team is about to get beat. However, it takes three of your only five available TP to cast (like MP but shared by the whole team).
In other news, I spent one whole day making zero storyline progress and just grinding to fill out the Crystarium. I wonder if I just killed the difficulty of the main questline.

Maxing out your Cystarium is probably quite a good defensive way to play, it avoids getting owned by the main storyline at least when there is less chance to level up.

I mean I think I'm CRAZY-overpowered for my point in the game, though. I'd always maxed out my Crystarium when I could and even then, I've never felt as though I had that much of an advantage over the stuff I fought, but now, most of the stuff that I considered a challenge is now piss-easy.
I cracked open the strategy guide for the first time since buying it just to see how tough the guide-writer(s)' characters were at my same location. In the photo I looked at, their highest character had about 1300 HP. My current lowest is Hope with 3225 HP, not counting any HP-boosting accessories.
Yeah, grinding is good, but I think I might've overdone it.

This may sound crazy, but I'm on Ch 7 & playing as Snow. Now when you walk around with him, nothing is on his back, but when your in battle there's a design on the back. Anyone realized that or is it just me?

Just beat the game this morning.
The ending is so confusing. There's like, lava and fire and crystals and explosions and I CANT TELL WHATS GOING ON ITS LIKE WATCHING A MICHAEL BAY MOVIE
Also, use Vanille as your team leader and spam Death on the final boss' second form after the Stagger. Easy "five-star the final boss" achievement.

I watched someone play this today.
It looks like a lot of X mashing.

I REALLY WISH THEY'D DO A NEW 16-BIT FF GAME. (And maybe remember that it's a game first, and a melodrama second, for once in this millenium.)

Yeah, 13 holds your hand and gives you a bunch of "press A to win" fights for longer than most Final Fantasys.
Then you hit Chapter 11 and the game says "Okay, we're done helping you OH LOOK STUFF THAT CAN KILL YOU IN ONE HIT HAVE FUN"

Horrid loading times? Most loading screens on FFXIII only last for about 5-10 seconds.
