"Charlie isn't real" |
lol Daiz, you actually created a thread about it...
...which i think is good, and like you said, DDR isn't just about hitting arrows, since it is like a sport, getting techniques down while playing can help some players out when they play...
...but you also have to think that some of the techniques used might not help others that well (different body weight, built, stamina, etc.) But eh, that is why this thread is here
My diet is varied, i eat what my mom makes pretty much (which mostly consists of rice, meat, some form of potato like french fries or baked potato or something like that) and on occasion i do eat stuff like Burger King, Wendy's Subway, Firehouse Subs, Five Guys, almost any other fast food/sandwitch place that is NOT McDonalds (i hate McDonalds now for their sandwitches...not so much for their Frosties and McNuggets >_>)
I drink mostly water and/or vitamin water when i play, if i have Gatorade, i drink that also, but i never drink soda or juice or anything like that while i play and after i play.

Rule #1. Don't be herky jerky when you dance. Always go with the flow, no matter what.
Rule #2. Do NOT pound on the mats. They didn't do anything to you. You will lose stamina. Step lightly. You conserve much more energy. I learned this the hard way.
Rule #3. Be calm. Relax your muscles. If you feel all tensed up, your muscles will tighten, meaning slower you.
Rule #4. Always bring a drink when you dance. You don't want to get dehydrated. No one does.
Rule #5. If you feel any form of fatigue after playing a song, take a little break.
Rule #6. This is the most important rule of all: HAVE FUN.

When you're playing DDR :
1. Don't rely on same song too much.
I usually found some newbies or followers just rely on same songs too much and won't ever try another songs.
They think another songs is too hard to try and to shame to feel if they Failed on that songs.
If you never try another songs you will never knew what it look like , what it sounds like and many more.
2. Listen the music carefully. People that have good listening and good timing have great advantage to learn anything quickly.
3. Don't panic when faced with 8th notes or weird notes. Learn and memorized all notes varieties.
4. Try to stepping by using both of your leg, not stomping moreover using only right leg to stomp all buttons.
Some newbies and followers that i ever met depend on right foot too much that make them hard to stepping succesfully
when the song going fast or filled with many arrows.
5. Always take a break after playing. Do not playing continously too much or you'll exhausted.
6. When you try to quick jump like in End of Century
try to hold DDR bar and using gravity to slam your body
and immediately pressing the DDR pad.
7. DO NOT EVER playing BOSS songs in a row or you will get collapsed if you get too exhausted.
Try to starting with 7 - 8 footer songs for Expert and finished with 10 or more footer songs on Final Stage (If you want).
8. Be consider with other people. Don't using all your credits in a row for playing DDR more than 2 times.

"suffering from success" |
My helping hands?
Don't rush. Wait for the notes to happen. I know on some songs like Only You or TOE JAM in where they use Red-Yellow-Blue-Yellow-Red to make it seem like it's following the song. Whatever you do, don't follow them exactly. Press them like they should. Not gallops.
Never... EVER play when you haven't had anything to eat or drink. I had VERY bad experiences with that and almost passed out because of the lack of oxygen.
Do not play the same songs over and over again. You will get stared at.
And most importantly, Look To The Sky

How to playing DDR without seeing , just using your blindfold :
1. Make sure you memorized the stepchart for that song 100% or you Failed during gameplay.
2. Make sure your choices of songs and difficulty right.
3. Try to listening the beginning of the songs because you must know the beginning and make sure you prepared for
stepping after you count yourself.
4. Try to hold the bar because when you're not seeing it's very easy to not stepping on the right place.
5. Use barefoot to playing with this trick because you must recognized which is dance pad and which is metal pad.
6. Do not thinking another things or you forget the stepchart and Failed during gameplay.
7. Let the audience watching the stepchart. Do not make it invisible (Using Stealth option).
8. Make sure that no LAG on your DDR ARC or you will get Failed immediately.
Finished that song succesfully and get some applause from audiences.

You can also play with looking down at the pad.
