I've also recently hit a wall with Arrabbiata on SuperNOVA 2's Hyper mode-thing. Even with the controller, heck with frigging ASSIST modules as well, I still struggle like hell on that mission.
...any tips?
Turn off 8ths, use Judge 6, and improve your timing. That's what I did. Turning off 8ths drops how high you can score, but Judge 6 can more than make up for it if you get perfects consistently enough....any tips?

Thank you, I've made a note of your suggestions and I'll try them next time I play SuperNOVA 2. I do rather wish the game gave you hints as to what arrows effects to expect as sometimes a perfectly simple looking mission can be made brutal with an arrow option thrown in. DMM never seemed to use arrow effects this much.

Where the heck do you find this kinda stuff...?

I was going to suggest reconfigging your button settings so that the down arrow is somewhere unobtrusive. Or there's my method of tearing into your pad and pulling the wire off of the controller. *grins sheepishly*
Xavious: I suggested those modules because it's what I did to get past it. When I later improved my skills with the controller, I no longer needed them.

Dancing Stage Max, Mission E-08 or something was an evil bitch. Michael Expert. Get 7,000,000 points or more, but you can't get any higher than a 10 combo. Took me over 200 tries. Stuck on 6.9m for ages. And yeah, completed all of it now, woo.
I can't recall if I used my pad or controller for that one but I don't remember it causing me too much trouble. I think I did it by hitting just before or behind the arrow to score a Good or Almost so I could break the combo but not lose too many points.
I did it in about 30 times. Michael's step chart has some 7-note streams,
so if you miss the last step of these streams, your combo will be kept at 6.
My question on (DS Max) DMM was in area C,
which has a mission that requires players to keep the gauge between 30% and 70% while playing Polovtsian (Standard).
I cleared the mission, but received a gray star instead of a red one,
and I'm sure it's impossible to FC it without failing the mission.
Anyone know how to get a red star on that mission?

Simply put, you can't.
While this is bumped: DDR Universe 1. Exorbitant Mission 6. Vanity Angel
on x3 and Boost. Your health starts out low, and does not replenish. You also can't hit the same arrow twice in a row.

I tried playing that mission maybe 50 times (on dance pad) and failed. I could clear it but always got stuck on 7.6 something. I found out that getting misses won't help me so I tried getting goods but I still failed and the best I could go was something like 7.8
I still haven't managed to clear the mission. Respect to you guys who made it through this mission.
Also that kung fu fighting. That's one of two missions I couldn't finish....

It took me three years, heheh. I eventually got it just by having a decent PA at it. You can get misses instead of Goods. As long as your combo is about 8/9/10, missing to break it won't be too bad.I tried playing that mission maybe 50 times (on dance pad) and failed. Then why do I have it?

SN2 NA also has the prize mod, but it doesn't help much since we're only able to see Freeway Shuffle and Raspberry Heart

Really? Ohhhh...I don't remember it in SN2 EU. Maybe that's another thing we didn't get.

So far I've found most the the PS2 series 'adventure modes' to be rather lacklustre in some way. Dance Master was awesome but started off much too easy and got too challenging later on. It was also too vast, there should have been less individual missions and more sections with missions in them with varying difficulties so that experts could pump up the difficulty should they wish too.
SuperNOVA's one was better because you had a tick list of missions and then a set of songs to choose from so their was more variety. Shame that some of the missions were really obscure or just stupid and random, I mean play as a male/female character on several songs when the chance of either is randomised and Pix doesn't count as either?
Hyper Master mode hasn't exactly been brilliant either.
So far I much prefer the two Hottest Party 'adventure modes': Groove Circuit and, even more so, Groove Arena. Both have a much better sense of progression and the requirements make a lot more sense. I love how the latter really makes use of each individual arena multiple times for different missions.

Best part about Groove Circuit: I can play the songs and meet the requirements on expert right from the start. No slogging through 30-40 minutes of beginner missions, then 30 minutes of basic missions, then 30 minutes of difficult missions.
