They should of added a Pause menu when you're playing a DDR Song. What happened if someone is calling you in the middle of the song?
People will take advantage of that to rest in the middle of a song, so that will never work.I say let it go to voicemail if you can't reach it or go ahead and pick it up if it's right next to you (preferrably when there's a realistic break, like a pause or freeze jump. You could just get someone else to pick it up if they're there.) and, if it doesn't distract you from the game, actually talk to the person.

The list for StepMania is a mile long. Ever since ITG development has slacked badly. The last 4.0 CVS was released almost a year and a half ago. There's rumor that they're working on a new build and that a completely redesigned theme is the reason it's taking so long but who knows.
Anybody who's looked at the stepmania.com main page in the last month knows. First there was the NSFW release on April 1st, then a couple days later, alpha 1, then a few days later, alpha 2, then a few days later, alpha 3, and on the 18th, alpha 4. So, if you don't know, then you haven't been looking. I even posted about the NSFW release here.Post #23 · Posted at 2009-04-26 10:33:17pm 16.2 years ago

Ironic that an April Fool's Day joke actually meant that more work has been done in this month on SM4 than in the past year.

I think we need more DDR database than just complete songlist
whoever can take good photographs should take DDR machine photos
take on every angle, it'll be cool
till now I can't find any good photos of DDR machines in the internet

And please don't get snippy about it, you could have just as easily showed me that there were new build without being an adolescent. You might have kept one of your cool points too.

I know what the StepMania community needs. SM 3.9 lacks a lot of symbols and Japanese characters, especially for the mixes since SuperNOVA. I added those missing characters to my StepMania, encoded them, and even posted my unfinished work on a different forum. I was almost done with SuperNOVA 2, but my home computer gave up on me. I think that's one of the things we need.

I think the use of mouse is a good idea too. The mouse doesn't do anything in Stepmania so why not include it? Like for example, going through options, choosing songs from the songwheel, and so on. Although it might not be a good idea while playing of course.

I honestly do not see how making modifications to Stepmania helps the DDR community as a whole. It only helps people who think Stepmania is just beatmania with 4 keys. Adding a pause menu, better performance, and all that to Stepmania will have no adverse affect on DDR community that revolves around the arcade and console games.

Update the Extra Stage system with an option for SN2/DDRX-style Extra Stages? Or at least change the extra1/2.crs format to support more than one song at a time, perhaps?
A DDR/Bemani wiki, maybe?
One that cross-references songs, mixes, and artists with one another; along with stepcharts/notecharts, revisions, banners/variations thereof, levels/statistics, and such?
Like, you look up a mix of a game, it tells you featured songs and their ratings that all link up. You look up a song, it gives you charts, documented info, and a list of games/mixes it appears in. You look up an artist, it gives you album data, times and songs featured, and which songs in what games/mixes.
EDIT: Perhaps include embedded YouTubes of gameplay where applicable, as well.
I mean seriously. What the hell?

"Give me a steady beat." |
http://bemani.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page
I started this over a year ago because some people expressed interested in doing just that. But when it went live very few people ever did anything. I aggregated the wiki content from bemanistyle and a couple other smaller places, that's where it stands.
Knock yourselves out guys. If it starts to take off I'll join in as well, I'm working on the English Wikipedia articles at the moment.

Let's plan out a proprietary format. Here's my suggestion so far:
GAMES SECTION
-Each series
--Basic strategy/idea
--Official Soundtrack or V-Rare releases
--Each mix/version of each series, or localization thereof.
(will contain banners/OST artwork, description and release dates, what's new an indexable tracklist based on the order it appears in-game, followed by unlockables, as well as any courses it features, or codes that may apply to the game. Suggested embedding of YouTube videos that show intros/tracklists where available.)
---Advanced or song-specific strategies.
---Available DLC or add-ons.
SONGS SECTION
-Licensed or Commissioned Artists
(Albums and tracklists will be details in their pages, along with featured songs/links to song pages, and links to official websites should be posted as well.)
-Konami Original Artists (similar)
--Songs
(Beginning with "Information Screen" details, lists what games/versions they're on, and their difficulty ratings thereof, including revisions and added/edited charts, subsectioned by series. For instance, "DAIKENKAI" would have a DDR section, a GitaDora section, and a pop'n section. Suggested embedding of YouTube gameplay/autoplay where available. Perhaps a "lyrics" subsection as well.)
Getting more into specifics as they develop; but first, we should create the necessary pages, right?
