This was in America's KIDS choice awards 2009...
What kind of crap is this...I believe they won best music artist.
And people wonder why kids keep on having sex earlier and earlier...
God, just about a month ago, I was volunteering for the suicide help center and I'm starting to get pregnant clients and they are only in middle school. All they cry about is how they can't keep the kid...I told one girl flat out stop having sex and she said {Quote} "Yeah right you virgin, sex is too much fun!"{End Quote}
Yeah, I was getting back talked by a middle school girl...
P.S. I think it's funny how the kid in the video is wearing all the shine. All these kids wanting to be pimpin'...

Correction: BEMANI. And you were the one bitching at Unknowngamz yesterday.
But yes, Bemani has great music and I listen to it too much.

QFT

@ The Kid's Choice Awards: It was good when it was before (and somewhat after) Rosie O Donell hosted it, but once she hosted it for TOO long it was time for her to move on...
Then came Mike Myers and Cameron Diaz, THAT was a good combo...i liked that KCA

Then came Jack Black...OH MY FREAKIN GOD....they pick him twice to host the KCA's and it's just utter fail i HATED him hosting that (pretty much i stopped watching the KCA's after he took over...)
Oh and Alvin and The Chipmunks movie beating Transformers for Best Movie back in 2008? Oh yea, screw you KCA's and your...little kids >_>
And now? T-Pain in the list for best male artist? Jack Black winning Best Animated Voice Actor? (I think this was rigged...seriously). No...just no...
The KCA's are going straight to hell, that's all i am going to say [/rant]

According to the You Laugh, You Lose thread, "funny" is performed with YouTube Poops and some guy who flips out on camera and speeds up the video.

Funny thing, half the grade 9's (my grade) in my school, have had sex when they were in grade 7, and early in grade 8. Seriously, I don't get why, but it's kind of ridiculous. I also bet that we'll be seeing A LOT more prostitutes soon.
(swearing here so...) All they're going to do if fuck off when they're teens, fuck off when they're when they're in college/university, fuck off when they're in their 40s, and fuck off when they're old grandma's, no great grandma because all of them hookers, are going to have hooker daughters and sons, how are just going to repeat. The worst thing is, they're fucking off to people they don't even know. Seriously, fuck off!
Y'know, I like all this pop/hip-hop music and stuff, but some of the videos that go with them are just terrible. And at least they could change some of the lyrics so it secretly demotes sex or something... Maybe they'll make a needle that makes you not want *cough* until you're 18...

I mean seriously my favorite station here in the late 90s was playing lots of good stuff, but at the turn of the century it went all urban and shit like previously mentioned.
I can guarantee you that 95% or more of my favorite "mainstream" were released in the 70s 80s or 90s.

I almost feel bad because I happen to like most of the songs presented as terrible in this thread. (It took a long time foir me to like Lollipop because I didn't like it until its remix came out) Granted that my roots pertain to the hip-hop/R&B area, I'm finding myself drawn slowly away from it. This happened recently because when I came back from the East Coast after attending a funeral, the local hip-hop station I listened to (Power 106 in LA) seemed to have changed greatly. They had a new Party Mix replacing the Old School Mix, which is now every day at noon, that plays basically "party" songs, or in this case plays songs people would hear in the club. That's mainly where I get my Day 'N' Nite (Crookers Remix) fix and usually a dash of Pokerface. That trip also instilled my preference for satellite radio since radio stations lately play the same songs almost every hour on the hour (or sooner, which is really sad...) It's almost bad enough where I can listen to a given radio station for an hour or more, but then wake up when a song I like actually plays.

It's weird because it seems like it's no longer what it was, and because of this I'm listening to pop/techno/j-pop/j-rock/DDR type music more. In my case, the whole japanese music set started with a game known as Kingdom Hearts (don't ask me why...) After that, it snowballed into me liking many songs that aren't in English. (like Tum Bin Jiya, ANGELUS, ROBOTICA, Yo Voy, and Pasa La Vida)
I hardly dabbled in rock music; it was never that appealing to me. Playing Guitar Hero kind of brings an interest, but it isn't that great a jump.
Also, what Kynayo said applies almost exactly to those who were around me at the time I was a sophomore in high school. A friend of mine in our old high school band told me that he slept with one girl in the band when they were in the 8th grade. Thuis bothered me because I instantly thought "Aren't you a little young to be having sex? Are you getting in early practice to become a porn star?"

Anyway, going back to topic:
Music now is nothing like it was, but only in few places can someone say it's not stinking up the airwaves. It probably explains why I liked Reggaeton music the first time I heard it, but then I hated it because every song after it sounded exactly the same: same beat, probably the same lyrics, same overused originality = FAIL!

I wonder how CAPTAIN JACK's son is doing, what with his intention to release reggaeton...
Eh, it seems that mainstream is a mix of urban and mindless pop dance tracks. The latest tripe from Britney Spears, Lady GaGa, these people, it's just awful. Repeat some catchphrase ad naseum to a beat, that's about it. Some of them are catchy, but so pointless, it makes me sad. Not the kind of songs you sing to yourself because they have no meaning or value. At least, to me.
P.S. The Delaction remix of GASOLINA is hot.

Wow, that's the exact opposite of me... Well, kind of close. I'm one of the unpopular kids at my school because, well, I'm just to crazy and talkative socially, and also because all of the video games and computer that I play. Nobody really hates me, but it's like I'm unnoticed. Everyone makes fun of me every once in a while, but it's not too much (my brother's way worse for that). Eventually, I just started getting madder at the fact that I was being made fun of by everyone (which is bound to happen, but I suppress all of my rage, which obviously isn't a good thing, and I just haven't released too much of it), so I started noticing Hip-Hop and Pop a lot more than I used to. Eventually, I started to take Hip-Hop dance classes, and Hip-Hop and pop music just grew onto me even more. I still listen to techno, I LUV my techno, but I've started listening to country a lot less (depending on which songs), rock is about the same, so is metal.
