Goth people
Enh, the goth people I play with actually aren't so bad. I was puzzled at why the goths at my arcade were so cheery and social and a goth friend of mine reminded me:"Goths aren't so bad. It's when you add suicidal tendencies and 'BAWWW!' that we become emos."

Yeah, I don't know what you'd called it, but I can be "heavily focused" when I do things at times. As for my own arcade irritations, I hate when people jump the coin line and dump their money into the machine while someone's already playing. Then when that person's done, they jump on the machine and use the excuse, "Well, my money was in the machine first!"

When people cheer me on.
When they try to distract you by fake dancing on the other side.
The fact that people think all of these songs come from DDR. NOT ALL OF THE SONGS ORIGINALLY COME FROM DDR! GET IT IN YOUR FUCKING HEAD.

playing the same song over and over.
I want my FC/AA/SDG, and if I have to play the song over and over to get it, I'm going to. Put your headphones on.I guess I'm lucky, because I'm usually left alone when I play at the arcade. Sometimes people comment after I do good, but bad things practically never happen.

Yeah, I don't know what you'd called it, but I can be "heavily focused" when I do things at times. Still, she wasn't my child and therefor not my responsibility. You don't want your child to get hurt, watch them!!!Speaking of walking on the pad, the kids coming in from the inside attractions ALWAYS like to run across the pad and hit as many arrows as they can while running. Beginner players who think they have to stomp on the arrow are the same way. They're ruining the quality by applying unnecessary pressure to the panels. I already have trouble holding freezes on the 2P right arrow; why add insult to injury?

Nothing will be as soul-destroyingly awful as watching a crowd of chavvy fat girls play Freak Like Me 15 times. On Light. With 2 people playing Doubles. And they pass (just) with a D, every time.
Is it just me, or do people over here not understand the difference between Versus and Double!?

lol, the token comment makes me think of Infinity's BM(AC) machine. The sign reads: IF YOU HAVE NOT PUT YOUR TOKEN IN THE TOKEN LINE YOU ARE NOT IN LINE!
It then goes on to show a main from the Mahoromatic anime wagging her finger in chibi fashion. Beneath that: Don't be a douche, respect the token line.
We need signs like those in every arcade.
Here's a few things I didn't see on the main list
*Playing your song when you go to get a drink of water (presumably because there's a fountain nearby and you don't have anything to drink)
*Being distracted by the giant silhouette of someone placing their token/card/mark while you're playing
*Enduring the annoying "tapping out" of the rhythm of your song by someone who just can't help bar raping for no apparent reason (i.e. not playing DDR but hanging from the bar of the other side)

Hum i saw a lots of thing happend to me :
- people disturbing you by talking/say sh** to you or by dancing like a fag.
- someone playing Love Shine 10 time in a day.
- some people where you can tell what he/she gonna play before they do.
- people who play 3/4/5 feet and try boss song is beginner/light. (for me, the musics of the boss songs suck. So i don't understand. Maybe they whant to do like the "good" players).
- someone drunk jump into one pad while i'm playing double.
- and some other various things... anyway, why some people are so... i don't know... are they jalous or something ? Pueril maybe or just jakass...
But there is this one too :
Someone who's tapping the rythm of the song, but not on the machine : for exemple on a table.
This distract you, and if it's too loud and off sync, it's just horible.
And this one :
People who don't care of other player.
Imagine this : 10 people, all playing ddr. Players play by 2 players (versus so). First pair go play, then the second. Then someone who have already play wants to play again, even there is 6 players still waiting.
Fortunately, this don't happend a lot. I mostly play with friends who are good players (good players means they have notion of "respect"). And even without coin line, we are fair.
And i can't FC Era or some paranoia sh** 80% of the time. (because of the steps...)
Omg, i was going for post like 15/20 words... and no, big post ^^'

Although I simply tend to tap my fingers (although that's different from pounding on the table) whenever I hear a song or have one playing in my head. I've done that several times at the arcade without the player complaining.

"TAKING IT TO THE PIE" |
One thing imparticular that gets under my skin is a gentleman who's been playing DDR for a while now. He taught a few of the better players how to play back in the day. Everytime I see him, he gives people bad information. Things like "Supernova had this weird bug where it would auto sync to your steps" or "Max 2 and 3rd mix had the same frame rate, 30 FPS" and and this one "I think goods actually hurt you more than Almosts (SN2)". I have to be very nice and tell him he's just flat out wrong on many things he tells people. He even tried to give me advice on AA'ing Across the Nightmare Challenge by listening to the song over and over with assist tick on while I sleep or something. No offense, but I can AA Across the Nightmare Challenge if I just played it half a dozen times. I'm a much better player than he is. It's not that I'm pompous, but I just don't like people constantly giving out wrong information, then trying to teach me how to play. Your credibility fails when you say 1998 was on 5th mix (AND IT HAS FREEZE ARROWS).

- People who don't want you to take their high score, so you lower your performance or use their name for YOUR high score.
I played until the last song and missed a few on purpose and gotten a High score. I can beat this one simple enough, but I "lower my performance" on this course to get the 2nd High Score & Entered the name "SUCK". So now when the screen list who gotten the High Score on this one it says in order:1st: RAVE
2nd: SUCK
3rd: XMAN
4th...
I think I made my point...//
Yeah, that's actually why I started using the name "No Legs". I kinda do it in front of people who ask me not to take their scores, kinda do it when they're absent. It depends on the mood. It's gotten the audience pretty riled up (fortunately I have very few incidents where people cheer me on during the song).
Also, a nice little story about playing doubles. I was about to start when this kid comes on. She looks at me with here annoying little eyes (I don't like kids because they don't do anything else but stare and babble). So I ask her to "Please excuse me, I don't want to hurt you." and she just stood there. I said it again, only louder, and her mom comes in. Now, I kind of expected this, kind of didn't, but she looks down on me and says...
"Excuse me?"
I know she heard me being polite, but according to her accent, she didn't seem to understand I was being polite. So I said "I was being polite, I don't want to hurt your daughter." and she says "You have no right to talk to my daughter that way!" Now, I have had imagination sequences before, kinda like Doug or something. I would stand up and mouth off and I would have someone back me up. However, I was tired and the game started, so I stayed quiet. Then she said...
"Is this a 2-player game?" I answered correctly. Then she said "Then you shouldn't be complaining!" Then I told her I was using both players, to which she said "These children think they own all these games". I just gave up and finished off with "YEAH! UH HUH!" and she gave me a mean eye.
She was one of the people who was amazed by my performances. I died a little inside, laughing.

But didn't 5th mix have AHP I WAS WRONG!!! Nah, just kidding, I knew that. Jeez, I would've smacked that guy down with a bit of my own DDR history.
Ask him what an 8 footer was officially titled in 3rd mix. Watch his head spin when you prove him wrong.

"Killing multi-colored snails!" |
I love how moms do that.
There was one time, in a theatre over in Texas a while back. I was playing Doubles while waiting for our movie.
So I'm in the middle of Chikara, and I'm about halfway through. And I swear, this came straight out of the failblog video. These people were watching me A and B through the first two songs, furiously might I add. They SAW me go about BOTH pads, and every parent was restraining his or her little kid from getting on the pad (about three of them, I remember, were those annoying little kids). And then, for some reason, this ten year old, who has the cognitive reasoning to understand that I, who looks like he weighs about 170-180 (but weighs more), can squish him if he's standing under me, decides to run up to the pad, GET DOWN ON HIS KNEES, and HIT the arrow I'm about to do a double plant on.
So I jump in the air having seen him too late. I've got BOTH feet slamming down on his hand. I'm wearing BRAND NEW BASKETBALL SHOES!!!
The kid screams really loud, and I fall over and slam my head on the pinball machine right next to the DDRSN game.
And here's the irony. After the parents thoroughly apologized to me (even though the kid was cussing like he's been abused since birth), my friend goes up to me and says "He made you miss the arrow, you know?"
-_-
Moral of the story: Care more
Secondary moral of the story: Go shoot yourself before you stick your hand under the raging feet of a kid twice your age AND weight
Recently at Golfland there were these five girls who would play every slow song over and over again. Right after that, there was a guy who thought he'd show off by doing a slow song on x8 with boost. He got a B. Then he decided to do ZZ Legend, but forgot to change the settings. By the time he realized it the first five girls were laughing at him. This was on Standard btw...
