The thing I don't understand is that the game was supposed to be given to the "general public" as if the game will actually be modified outside of it's Japanese product. Other than romanization and translation of song titles, menus and text, I don't think this game will have any changes in its US/EU release.

Well, they can release e-amuse updates to the Japanese machine based on what they hear from European players I suppose.

...Geez you guys, it's not srs bsns. I know I'm not really one to talk as I'm probably more DDR-obsessed than the next guy, but dammit even I realize when it's just a game and people need to chill. Why is everyone freaking out over this?

SN2 was not released there because of environmental regulations with regard to the PS2-based hardware. There will be no such problem with X's Bemani-PC hardware I believe.

On the one hand, I know what it feels to know something others don't. But I do feel the injustice that not everyone (almost always including me) is informed.

Personally, I think Konami is trying to avoid quite so much of the "hardcore" image that some of their music games developed (and that ITG had back in the day) and trying to market it to a wider audience, hence the secrecy. While the fans will put the most money per capita into a machine, they're also few and far between. Konami isn't looking to sell a couple cabinets, they're looking to sell a couple hundred (at least). Hence the need to find a larger audience.
