what does that mean? i dont follow parties and all that stuff, i feel that the guy who would do the better job should get it, so i dont follow the democrat/republican thing enough to know what red is.


i'm not one so ignorant as to assume that because he has many ideas that are like socialism, that he IS socialist, however many ideas he is trying to implement seem to borrow a lot from socialism. "spread the wealth" is only part of it, the health system that he is trying to pitch is nearly identical to socialistic health care, which, like i said, if you ask someone who is from a country that used it simply doesnt work. the waiting lists are ridiculous, and there are so many patients that you rarely actually get what you need. its only going to screw over those who actually earn their living and pay for insurance.

speaking of screwing over those who earn their living, the spread the wealth idea is designed to help those who are down on their luck more or less. it is supposed to help people who work hard, but dont have the higher paying jobs. what its going to end up doing is paying someone to lay on the couch, scratch his balls, and watch the price is right, because much like welfare, there are people who truly need the help, but there are those who will abuse the system.

if the system he wants to implement worked in real life like it does in idea, it would be a great thing to implement in this country because not everyone is able to earn a good enough living to live comfortably, its just a sad fact. i really do think that if obama is elected and he gets his ideas set in motion that the economy will become worse than it currently is because of it. his heart is in the right place, but unfortunately other countries have proven the idea doesnt work.

throw in the fact that he doesnt support the military(military =/= war, dont get that confused), and thinks our numbers are too big and wants not just less troops in iraq/afghanistan(great idea) but less troops in general. our country has too many enemies to just cut the military like he wants too. we dont necessarily need to be at war(though i will be honest, combat pay = win), we do need to be able to defend our country in the event of another 9/11. most people wont personally see the impact of this, but i'm active duty air force. with the economy like it is, i was going to re-enlist for the job security(and 13,000 6 year re-enlistment bonus) but the way he wants to do things even the military wont have job security.

I was actually looking for some more specific examples. Just saying that it's like other socialist ideals doesn't really have much weight behind it.

I really liked McCain's speech in Phoenix. It was a heart-wrenching moment of McCain's honor but it was extremely disturbing how the voters of Phoenix responded. As McCain was giving his sincere congratulations to Presidential Elect Obama, they started boo-ing. What kind of nationalism is that?

like i said, i'm not saying he IS socialist, i'm saying that he has ideas that resemble socialism. also, saying its like socialist ideas does have weight behind it, and for an example we can use dancing games(were on ZIV, so i figured why not). there is DDR, the original idea. there is also ITG, which uses a lot of the same ideas. because of the ideas it uses, ITG is a dancing game. that one is a bit more straight foreword, because i'm not saying obama is a socialist, but you cant say his ideas arent socialistic just because he isnt a socialist. i really hope that made sense in text, because it certainly did in my head :p


unfortunately, thats just how people are, and it sucks. its a home town hero thing, you see it all the time. possibly a bad example, but if you watch wrestling, when they are in someone's home town, a heel(bad guy) almost automatically becomes the good guy for the night. a prime example is unforgiven 07 when edge had a TLC match against john cena and the match was in canada. edge was the company's top heel at the time, but got huge pops because he is canadian.

Well the way you're putting it is that ITG is like DDR because it just is. If you go into the format of the scrolling arrows, placement, modifiers, etc, then it's a little easier to see.

McCain himself seems like a good guy and truthfully, I think he would've been a pretty good president. A lot of his supporters (and running mate) seem like imbeciles though.

I'm awaiting the returns of Proposition 8, since it's one of the few things that would actually directly affect me.

I voted for Obama, but in California, it's not like it really matters.

I think McCain would've done a fine job as president. He's much more competent than Dubya.

NO ON PROP 8, seriously; even though I wouldn't associate with too many gays, infringing on somebodies' rights as CITIZENS is just plain wrong.

...I voted! I hardly had to wait. I waited for a good 15 minutes while my friend waited for an hour and a half.

And about the whole voting: if you don't vote, you have no right to complain as to what happens - assuming that you have the right to vote.


That's what I think now at the least. I'm only 18 and know so little little about politics. I would love to see how much I change in a decade. Especially the way I think.

I thought Proposition 8 was one of the stupidest things I've ever heard or read. It basically prevents those of "non-traditional" (I use this term rather loosely) lifestyles to get married. I'm not in California, so I hope this gets shot down faster than Dick Cheney's hunting buddy.

Oh, and BTW, Obama will be a better president than Bush 43.

so, since this thread is obviously for discussing this kind of stuff, i'm going to ask, and if it opens a can of worms i'll delete the post.

why do so many people think bush was a bad president? i dont think he was amazing or anything, but i dont think he did a bad job. all i ever hear about going against him is the war, which if you paid attention in high school he couldnt do by himself. i'm curious to hear why people think obama will be so much better. facts, not mindless slander please.
