same for me... i always use Stepmania 3.9 program... then patched by Redux... It works fine...

By "fixing negative stops" in Redux, they mean completely destroying them and any work that anyone writing them did, not ignoring them.
It's actually pretty ridiculous that they "fixed" such an interesting undocumented feature. I went back to regular 3.9+ because of this. =/ I almost lost a lot of work I put into a file like this.

I 'fixed' it because I had multiple people tell me that it caused the game to crash, and I never bothered looking into it based on that. In light of your complaint, I went back and looked at what they actually did, and lets just say that I'm not happy that I was decieved by people who for whatever reason wanted that out.
There's a new version of Redux being upped to my server now which has -ve stops enabled in it again (although it is technically a bug in the code).
