DDRMAX... 3!!!

Hey guys, everytime I try to play my first song, the game crashes and says "AI.ini: 'Skill0' doesn't exist". Do you know what the problem might be?

Go to C:\Program Files\DDRMAX3\Data (or wherever it happens to be) and open AI.ini.

Is there a [Skill0] at the very top? I can't imagine why it would be missing, but if it is, copy this into it:

MissWeight=8
BooWeight=8
GoodWeight=8
GreatWeight=30
PerfectWeight=30
MarvelousWeight=30

You should have [Skill0] through [Skill6] in that file, defined like that (with different values, of course).

I'd also like to give a huge thanks to UG, titiln, and everyone else involved. This is a lot of fun and the songs are fantastic. I also have to say, the default ENCORE EXTRA STAGE's background video is hilarious and awesome and I love it to pieces. Definitely a keeper, all around extremely polished and well done.

On a side note, if I start sorting, and go back to default, it alphabetizes all songs in their respective colour category. It's nothing I mind, just something I noticed. Then again that may be a side-effect of my toying with values to tweak it to my liking.

Oh, also I have to give mad kudos to whoever made some awesome stepchart throwbacks.

The JENNY ROM song ends like WAKA LAKA, and the TESS song is very TESS-like; unnecessarily difficult like all TESS songs, but plays just like them, and I love that it feels like a real continuation of the 'TESS LOVES 9's' thing they had going~

And is there any way to just get the simfiles out of it? (I haven't tried DLing it yet)

EDIT: Wait, its just a SMZip, so couldn't I just extract it and take the songs/theme/noteskins out of it and use them separately? (Without touching my SM install?)

You could, just be wary about transferring some things; they have changed the metrics a bit and copying the whole thing into your regular StepMania folder would mess things up. You could use something like WinRar to extract the songs and theme, if you so desire, but I do recommend playing it as a package, it's very complete.

It works, but yeah, it takes a bit of trickery and shortcut editing to get everything set up right with the folders and Start menu and junk... But its nice! And has some awesome songs to! This has to be the closest thing to official that i have ever seen! I love it, now to test the stepcharts and see if they are any good!
