I decided to pick up a few of your simfiles since I like the tunes and I have a few comments for you.

I downloaded six files and I've gone through two of them extensively tonight, Calabria and Piece of Me, I'll begin with Calabria.

I don't know if you did anything right with this file, I guess the graphics are okay and at least you kept the difficulty reasonable (I don't really like the over-ly difficult steps that seem to be popular today).

As far as what you did wrong, well the music sample was not good (of the six files all of them needed new sample starts, sample lengths, or both). There were some bad song-cut errors that causes the arrows to become off-sync, every time the arrows became later. You had NUMEROUS double-stepping going on (don't you pad test your files??? if not, go back and pad test them!!!). You also could have used some better variation in the patterns (there's room for some sligthly more interesting steps). Overall this whole file just felt rushed in every sense. I made some corrections for you, download this file, I have some BPM changes to counter the bad song-cuts, I fixed the double steping, added a BG Video, and slightly altered parts of the step charts that were lacking. Again, I strongly suggest you go back over ALL of your simfiles and pad-test them to remove the awful double-stepping problems.

Next song was Piece of Me, I almost deleted all 6 files after I realized how chopped up the audio file was in Calabria, however I really like this song so I gave it a shot. Thankfully it's not cut, although you should have faded out the ending. Why didn't you add in a BG image, it's really easy to find a suitable image for this song. The steps were very unimaginative, and again double stepping plagued all of the charts. I fixed the double stepping for you (other than in beginner mode since I don't think double stepping is bad in beginner mode usually), however the steps are still pretty bland, I actually liked the Standard steps better since it's less streamy. This file also felt tremendously rushed. I added a BG video for this file and a quick BG image as well as fixing the double-stepping. I'm automatically going to delete any DOUBLES charts since it's much harder to remove double-stepping from doubles charts and since you don't seem to pad-test files, I can only imagine how bad those charts are.

Overall you should take more time with creating simfiles and step charts. Do NOT try to cut and piece together audio files until you know exactally what you are doing. Pad test everything over and over, give it to someone you trust to pad test it as well. Pick a sample that does justice to the file. Learn how to add music videos appropriately, just adding in a music video that is unedited is not good (see that ooh ooh sexy vampire file, it's full length with audio). And vary up the patterns, play with the music more, 1/8th streams are always fun but break it up when you can. Good choice in songs, I'm only spending the time to fix these up because I like the songs, and I'm providing feedback to help you improve (not because I'm better, because my stepcharts are also very bland and I know it, I get bored quick of writing charts, that's why I mostly onlly removed the double-stepping).

Paper Planes was one of the files I downloaded, it also had double-stepping problems, however much less than most others. I also added the BG Video to it and removed double stepping, I REALLY like that song BTW.

To help you pad-test files, if you don't have a USB pad, just pretend you do and move your feet on the carpet as if you were playing the file on pad. Also you can re-distribute any of my additions to your files, you don't even need to credit me, just enjoy StepMania, it's a game, have fun.
