It's none of the above. It's actually an 8-bit remix of Ascalon from IIDX tricoro.

IMPORTANT UPDATE!

Earlier today, I thought more about Freezepond's BRAiNTHROB track that I had rejected. I then realized that while I may not be able to do much from a musical standpoint, I am proficient enough with audio editing to extend his track to normal DDR length. And so, I did. The final result, with graphics and steps, can be found here.

With that being said, I am still looking for 25 original songs! And the best part is that no one needs to worry about creating a track called "BRAiNTHROB" anymore!

I have been sitting on a considerable repository of shit I made for pad files in 2012-2018. Somewhere along the way, however, I realized my charting abilities are subpar and I privated the category. Still, I spent a lot of time working on these tracks and I would like to distribute them somehow. I'd be open to sharing as many of these as you're willing to entertain, but for now I'll just slap the one of which I'm most proud here. A substantial amount of the tracks are Bemani remixes, and I don't have any real conception of how open you are to using work that isn't completely original.

Tbh I would love to contribute to this project. I've never really made a finished track, but this might give me a drive to do so lol. I'm thinking of making something that's Eurobeat...

Took a listen to it, and I liked what I heard! As far as BEMANI remixes go, those are perfectly acceptable. In fact, one of the submissions I have previously accepted is an 8-bit remix of Ascalon from IIDX tricoro. That being said, I would love to use your original track for my project. This means that there are now 24 SPOTS LEFT!

2. After reading the thread you linked to, I can tell you that that's not a song I have planned for this project. I'd be happy to step it for you once this project is complete, though.

UPDATE (1/3/21): I have received another successful submission from a brand new user here at ZIv! Her name is N;Ch#nt. And this means that I now have 22 SPOTS LEFT!

UPDATE (1/4/21): On second thought, I have decided to redact N;Ch#nt's submission. There are now 23 spots left to fill.

HUGE UPDATE (1/9/21): I was so proud of what I did with BRAiNTHROB that I decided to try my hand at making a track for the project all by myself. The song is called ROCK THE BEAT AND GET CLOSER NOW. And here's is how it turned out.

i respect the hustle, but i've gotta admit that this track? this ain't it, dog. highly recommend you spend some more time working on the projects before saying they're finished. there's points in this track where the loops start at awkward times, the mixing is all over the place, and idk what was up with that high pitched tone near the beginning. there's promise, but definitely hone on your craft.

I did see what Sig posted about my original song. I didn't respond to it because he hit the nail right on the head. The only thing I have to say is that the A440 tone at the beginning is there simply as something to lead into the piano sample. But he's absolutely right about everything else. That is why I am not going to try my hand at making any more music for the project. However, despite all of the musical flaws, I think I did a decent job at making steps for the song,

Hey, I just want to inform you that most of the loop you sample doesn't run in constant 190. That's why your chart got a severe Yellow Syndrome and doesn't fit in any time signature.

I'm fully aware of all the issues with the song and charts. However, I still think the charts are at least more respectable than the song.

I don't really understand the point of this pack. I feel like anybody who can make electronic music (or acoustic for that matter) would certainly be able to make their own stepchart for their song if they wish. Making a stepchart takes a fraction of the time for making a song. If what you want is a pack with entirely original music, I think you should compose it as well. Everybody's first song they produced sounds like shit. But if you put in the learning hours, you can get better and better. And then you can make your own pack and use whatever samples you'd like. A lot of songs in rhythm games aren't even close to perfect, but they sound good enough and have their own character that still makes it fun to play.

Finally, I feel like it would be a lot more rewarding from your perspective having a pack of 10 or so songs that you produced and stepped rather than a random assortment of songs others produced with little association to you. That's how I view it at least.

This pack will have more than just original music. In fact, it's mostly already existing songs. The goal is:

50 mainstream licenses
30 original songs
60 BEMANI Crossovers
100 AC Revivals
20 Special Revivals
30 Revivals from CS games
10 Special Charts with a focus on a charting gimmick

So, I just updated the first post to add a link to the most recently completed original simfile. And while I'm here, I'd like to remind y'all that I'm still looking for 19 original tracks. I may not have a deadline for these submissions, but I'm getting bored of not receiving any new songs to listen to.

UPDATE (1/17/21): After I posted an inquiry for more original music on all of my social media pages, I have accepted another song! It's called "Travis" by Just Dave, an acoustic rock musician from the south suburbs of Chicago. Upon first listen, it may not sound like something that you can dance to. But then again, neither does "BRAiNTHROB." Click here to hear the song.

And with that, 18 SPOTS REMAIN!

UPDATE (1/20/21): Another song has been added to the project. This one is from iNFECTiON, known on ZIv as Damox. It's called "EYES OF DESPAiR." If you've seen the ZENIUS -I- MANIA 2020 thread, you've probably already heard it. So, there are now 17 MORE SPOTS LEFT!

UPDATE (1/21/21): Even though I still need 17 original songs, I can now say that I have reached the halfway point of DDR NovaMAX!

UPDATE (1/27/21): I have decided to add JOMANDA (Zekk Remix) to DDR NovaMAX once Simfile Tycoon is over. Because of this, there are now only 16 spots left to fill!

MAJOR UPDATE (1/27/21): Due to me being unsatisfied, I decided to remove ROCK THE BEAT AND GET CLOSER NOW from the project. It will not be missed. So, there are now, once again, 17 spots left. I look forward to hearing more original content!
