Akira's been in the biz pretty much as long as I have. Probably longer, now I think about it. Either way, I've been in sim contests with him before I was on ZIv.

I'm a bit busy right now, but I should be able to get something done within three weeks. Sign me up.

Normally, this would be the time when I would announce that round 1 submissions are now open, but . . . the category still isn't up yet. If anyone would like to request to extend the round 1 deadline by another week (if the category still isn't up by then), then we can do that.

In the meantime, another reminder: if you would like to sign up as a judge rather than as a participant, you can PM me on ZIv or Discord along with a brief explanation why. Once I receive and approve requests from at least two other people, I will announce their names and update the rules accordingly for team judging (unless there are any objections to the people who requested).
And to clarify myself a bit: the "playing all difficulties on pad" requirement is more of a soft requirement rather than a hard one; of course, other things such as skill level or amount of experience (charting or playing), I will have to consider as well.

Also, I think I will close sign-up requests for judging in one week (October 26th) so that everyone can have a clear understanding of who will or will not be judge before submitting files (or if you think that is too late, I can close them now if everyone agrees).

Nope, still just me at the moment. I mean, we don't necessarily have to have a panel of judges for the contest to function at all; it would only shift the blame for all scores from entirely me to just partially me.

Alright, here's the deal with judging so far: I received PMs from 3 people saying they would like to be a judge, but one common concern that was brought up from all of them was the perception that other people might not believe they are qualified enough to be a judge (for one reason or another).

So what I've decided do now is release their names here and give everyone the chance to bring up any objections to the people below in this thread. I'd like at least 3 people on the panel if there were to be a panel at all, so if there are any objections to at least 2 people in the list (let's say, by the end of this month), then there will be no panel for this contest and I will be the only judge. Otherwise, the 2-3 people who didn't receive an objection will be included in the panel.

BTW in case there is a panel of judges, there will be an extra rule stating that the final score for each file will be the average of the scores from each individual judge (unless you have any ideas on how to improve on this).
