More Rinon = more better. It's not any new story or designs, but they're using the cute characters they have to market the game instead of letting it go to waste, so I can't complain. Cute sells stupidly well.

Now, attempting to be on the same wavelength as everyone else... the lack of new original songs has been bothering me for a while and is apparently still a thing. Reading through everyone expecting crossovers and revivals... 'cause that's what's been happening for a while. Charts aren't by any means bad, but I'll throw a party when we get a buttload of new content... even though I prolly wouldn't know what to play (in a place with DDR A) unless it's by artists I'm familiar with.

And this is why I can say with confidence that you don't know what you're talking about. People looking at shock arrows or Astrogazer's "nonsense 24ths" when none of the charts released "make no sense" and actually have quite a level of thought put into them to flow.

Edit: I'll dial back a bit and say that yeah opinions are opinions but it's also my opinion to state that a lot of opinions here are poorly formed lol

I like how you still haven't addressed the fact that you're weird for thinking that most people here can actually clear these charts

I'm all about Astrogazer. To hell if it fits with the rhythm, it just looks fun to play! Rising Fire Hawk is probably the best new chart here though.

While I do hope for some new tracks soon, I'm also totally fine with getting more 16/17/18+ charts if that's whats in store!

No doubt about it; RISING FIRE HAWK is the best new chart we've gotten recently.

Yeah man, fuck everyone who thinks stepcharts should go to what's actually happening in the song! Buncha losers probably think flow matters in a chart. Bunch of IDIOTS.

Strangely, the chart I was most excited to see was Ronron E Rairairai (The title means "Come, Come, Come to Ronron!") because I have a fanmade chart of it in my StepMania...and the real one ended up being a pretty nice chart to me that actually reminds me a lot of the fanmade one so yay

I was actually planning to step Mo-Cha-Cha...and I'm still planning to do so after seeing its chart I'm not the biggest fan of it and I feel it deserves a chart, so I'll take it upon myself to do just that!

Now, onto the songs that received charts today...

From my most to least preferred, I'd rank them Astro-RFH-New~

Astro looks pretty fun IMO, and I like how it's sort of ITG-like! RFH also looks pretty darned fun though it seems a bit iffy at times...
New Century also is pretty nice, but I just like the other two better.

I'm in the camp of Astrogazer being the best new chart, even though I'm very partial to the song. Loved playing and honestly thought it couldn't get any better to play on a harder difficulty.

Rising Fire Hawk is pretty complementary. It's more "just right" than all-out impressive.

New Century just feels like it seems between New Decade's & - harder with a lot more BS patterns. Looking at the doubles chart at a glance makes NC even more intimidating. (I don't have anything to say about the other doubles charts)

I just saw a video of New Century's CDP chart, and wow, the gimmicks in there are pretty crazy (in a good way). My overall thoughts on all of the charts: sure, they're all overstepped in a couple areas, but at least the fun gimmicks and interesting patterns make up for that, and they actually fit their respective songs pretty well. I'd rather have hard charts with these kinds of mind-bending patterns rather than without. They'd be predictable and boring to play otherwise.

Astro is a good chart, I dig it, it might not follow the rhythm all the time but it feels and looks great. An ITG chart.

RFH is good, it's still RFH but with more steps and they make sense.

NC is crap. Not PTF crap, but still crap.

Edit: New Century D- is really something. Interesting how they mixed up the shock arrows throughout, and the step patterns are challenging (pun not intended).

Wow, the D- for New Century is completely different from the S-. Can't say I was expecting that, except for the part where someone earlier in thread told me.

Still, that's interesting; it clearly shows that there's some level of effort being put into Double charts. Anyone around here play doubles? I don't, mostly because doubles mode is basically an arcade exclusive mode.

I don't play doubles, but even so...damn that chart is scary

I've started breaking into doubles for the past several weeks. Mostly playing around the 11-13 range to AA and AAA FCs, so I'm doing the difficult charts for the boss songs. Have passed a 15 and a few 14s, but even on the 13s they're really stamina-draining, so gotta work on stamina to play a bit higher.

I'm among those that live closest to you and I play doubles pretty casually. My highest clear level so far is 16, highest FC being 15. I can read most charts, but these charts are far out of my reach to play.
