It's really cruel how they take away all 6 medals when you play Valkyrie dimension. That's at least 6 rounds you have to play to try again.

I actually think that's a novel way to keep the boss songs elusive for as long as possible. Better idea than forcing mods to just to make it harder to read.

But yeah, pad misses are the devil. Everyone needs to vent a little sometimes.

Q: If someone has six medals, and they choose not to play VD, or not to play a Replicant song at all, do the medals stay in place?

You cannot not choose to play VD when you get all six medals. Upon getting your sixth medal, you are automatically forced into VD as your EES.

When you get the 6th medal, the game forces you to play Valkyrie Dimension inmediately, so, there's no way to get the 6 medals and not play the EES

I freaked out today at the arcade!!!

Long story short, it's truly a pain in the ass to get the 6 medals to attempt Valkyrie and then losing them all. It's especially annoying when you finally get to play encore stage and you get a f***ing PAD MISS in the beginning!!! OMG I flipped out (some of it on video). Keep in mind I usually keep my cool through situations with pad misses but in this case there is a big exception. Sorry, I just needed to vent a little. Tourny is in 10 hours.

btw, my friend 513 PFCed Roppongi Version A. no bar today. No vid though Sad

Wow that suck, Pad Misses are the worst...

Okay, thought you had to already have them and then go and get an EES. It's... Just like EES always worked. Tongue

Nah, instead they're using IIDX's special EXTRA STAGE system: You go into a special section (CARDINAL GATE/VIP ROOM/MILITARY SPLASH/EMPRESS PLACE/etc) to choose your EXTRA STAGE and if all criteria is met after you cleared that, you get thrown into the ENCORE EXTRA STAGE automatically.

Yes, it was posted, I made the chart for stepmania, and is on the beta category of DDR X2.

I like how the steps are choreographed. It makes the chart that much better.

Thanks Konami, for teasing us with JP pads on a US dedicab Sad

Hopefully this means that X2 dedis will have real pads...but then why were they testing the other ones in Chicago?

The reason why it's a US cabinet with JP pads is because the addition of X2 was so last minute, they basically just frankenstein'd what parts they had to make a functional machine. This was in no way meant to be a location test or an indicator of the actual US hardware, it's just what they could come up with for an informal demo on such short notice.

Hopefully we'll see more 'official' tests soon as well.

It at least proves that the stages are interchangeable. Wink

"BEEJAY REVEL A"
What I don't get is why they can't just have one pad design. It'd spare them the trouble of making a new design for each region and us having the potential of getting a cruddy pad.
I know they're trying to make it more affordable, but haven't they heard of "You get what you paid for"?

This is why I didn't have a single problem with the SuperNOVA design. First time I saw it I was like "Um... okay. Square." but since the pads felt and acted the same (a bit stiff, being used to playing on very worn machines) I was okay with it.

Maybe Konami's being proud in front of Andamiro, who also completely replaced their cabinet design with NX yet the stage is absolutely identical to the original right down to the arrow decals. A decision I whole-heartedly approve of.

Tell that to arcade owners in the west that paid a five digit figure for DDR X.

Good video, and congratulations to Dr.D
