Everything keeps pointing to X3 being a rebuilding year for DDR. Even so, X3 is a really good game. And it's giving Japanese arcade-goers a lot of existing content they may have known about but never been able to experience. It's a chance for Konami to shore up the franchise and put what they already have to better use, and why not?

Yeah, i can't say it's been the best FROM OUR POINT OF VIEW, but over in Japan it's probably more or less alien to them to have these songs be put into an AC game while we pretty much already had the taste of them either not too recently or from a long time ago. I honestly think that if X3 was somehow released in both the US and EU at the same time with Japan's and we saw the unlocks, most of us would probably either shun away from playing or probably give it a try at best, but we would have already known about the stepchart and what's to come from it.Post #3863 · Posted at 2012-05-16 12:18:18pm 13.1 years ago

Makes you wonder if X3 is Japanese-only because Konami said, in a rare fit of insight, "These songs are mostly new to Japan, but America and Europe have already played most of them. Let's just not release it there cause all they'll do is complain that is recycled songs."
And the stars aligned and Konami was dead on.
Also... What if Konami thinks it's best to release a DDR arcade in the west every OTHER year? Knowing that 99.9% of X3 will ship with X4. It would make it cheaper for them and arcade owners would be more apt to blow 10 grand on a machine every two years instead of every single year.

I seriously wouldn't mind this to happen. In fact, I would LOVE for this to happen. Seeing that nothing quite "new" is happening with the game, if the US/EU skips X3 in favor of X4, we'd have everything X3 has to offer, and then both Japan, the US, and Europe would be similarly on the same page in some way shape or form. Hell, if they want to blow my head off they would wait until Japan announced an X4 test location, and then suddenly have test locations for the US and EU for X4, then release it internationally. Because honestly, most everyone here is pretty much not liking the way X3 is looking from our experience and perspective of how the game is shaping up to be, we should just let Japan have this one and hope we can actually get a much more refined, international release later on in the future for all to enjoy.#onecandream.

Partial tracklist for DDR X3 OST has been revealed. Pretty much is what we currently know already.
I think we're getting a different version of Amalgamation titled Amalgamation (original score version)

Yup the only songs not on there that we know about are:
COME BACK TO MY HEART
tokyoEVOLVED
osaka EVOLVED -毎度、おおきに!-
(and all the license songs)
The link can be found here. There are still nine tracks on the soundtrack that are unknown. I can't wait to see what they are.

That's probably just a soundtrack-only song.

@SSGotenksUFO: COME BACK TO MY HEART was terchnically a license iirc, and licenses never appear on OSTs, so you can scratch that song off the list of songs that will be appearing on the OST.
Interesting to see they are dragging their feet when there actually do seem to be other boss songs still coming for X3.
26 on Disc 2 looks like it could be another long version... or a crossover. (inb4 it's reunion).

Those three plus the six licenses would equal nine...which would be shocking for those songs to be the unknown songs on the OST.
However looking at the placement of the ????s, there are four after Nephelim Delta, 2 after Silver Dream, and 2 after Unbelievable, which could possibly mean there are more OMES out there.
The ???? after Flower could possibly be another crossover, but is likely another long song, considering Bemani never releases an OST with just one long version.

Purposely inflating difficulties...
And here I was thinking KONMAI could do something right in this new Extra Stage tour.
Not to be cynical, but I don't consider using two songs that are years old to players as 'new' extra stage songs to be doing something right

Does it bring people out to put credits into the machine? Then what they're doing is right...
Honestly, I didn't see this much complaining when Extreme revived like 60 songs from past mixes. Nor did I see it when SuperNOVA brought over 50 songs from CS mixes. DDR X3 vs 2nd mix has roughly 20 songs from previous mixes (minus 2nd mix mode). TWENTY. When you put it into perspective, it doesn't feel much like a catch up mix after all...

I assume the two tracks that would be below UNBELIEVABLE would be New York EVOLVED and London EVOLVED and the ones below SILVER DREAM would be tokyo EVOLVED and osaka EVOLVED. Really hoping they are all version Ds. or if there are no version Ds, I wonder what version will they include on the OST.
The one song below FLOWER, please let it be a full version of any of these songs: Programmed Universe, I/O, or HEART BEAT FORMULA

Its not the amount of revivals which I think Is the cause of complaint but the lack of brand new charts. DDR Extreme, despite reviving so many songs for the mix (many of them great licenses) still had 35-ish brand new songs (this isn't counting the songs transplanted from the EU games), and of the songs revived they had good charts.
X3 only has 22 new songs (so far), admittedly most having pretty good charts, the rest being transplants from the NA games, the games of source they chose tended to have pretty bland charts. It would have been awesome if they revived some old licenses, but they wasted those in 2nd mix mode, which although novel, doesn't seem to add anything to the mix.
This mix is looking more like X2 plus rather than a fully independent mix. When was the last time we got a 3rd mix in a naming scheme anyways. Perhaps the next mix will be DDR Z or something, and perhaps maybe we will see an official release back in the states (without Betson hopefully).

I counted 25. I have no problem with Japan having a catch-up mix. They need to get all these songs too. It just seems weird that they're not including a HUGE chunk of Konami Originals from the past two years. If the following songs are gonna appear in the next mix, then it would seem the catching up is gonna be spread across two arcade mixes.
As of right now, and not including any long versions, here are the songs still missing from DDR X3.
DanceDanceRevolution 2010
-------------------------------------
A Geisha's Dream (Ruffage Remix)
Curry Up
DOUBLE TORNARD
New York EVOLVED
On the Night of a Still Wind
One Sided Love
The Island Song
The Way U Move
Top The Charts
Win The Game
夢幻ノ光
DanceDanceRevolution II
-------------------------------------
Dance Partay
Diamond Night
El ritmo te controla
SAY A PRAYER
Still unbreakable
Summer Fairytale
Surrender (PureFocus remix)
Tell Me What To Do
London EVOLVED

So, this means DDR II's full versions won't appear in the OST, right?

By that logic, SILVER DREAM wouldn't appear either, nor any of the EVOLVED songs.
