"Any pronouns necessary Smile"
A lot of people really hate Ska a Go Go's Heavy chart. Glad I'm not the only one who likes them. That's one of the few good ones.
GRADIUSIC CYBER is okay, too.
Has over a decade of DDR experience
Has only PFC'd a HEAVY chart once.

Yeah, 5.1.1's Heavy chart is garbage. As are most songs from CLUB VERSION.

I respectfully disagree. Many charts from CLUB VERSiON were ahead of it's time.
When I played the game on the Dreamcast a few years ago at a friends place, and then saw how old the game was, I was really surprised! (To this day the only non-Wii DDR CS game I have played)

All of the following have charts that are better than the average chart from 3rd-5th Mix (in my opinion of course)

LUV TO ME (disco mix)
22DUNK
DEEP IN YOU
PERFECT FREE
OVERDOSER (both versions)
GRADIUSIC CYBER
Deep clear eyes

ska a go go's charts are not bad, they're just really offsync. Probably the hardest charts at the time, maybe even for quite a time depending if you think 16th trills are challenging. You could make a case for ska a go go ANOTHER STANDARD being the hardest song until MAX 300.

Some songs have charts that are either super bland (Into the world, BEGINNING-OF-LIFE) or really weird, and even have 16th notes on BASIC charts (g.m.d., Salamander Beat Crush Mix) but I would say Club ver. has it's gems. I liked the "feel" of the game a lot. Shame almost no songs made it to modern arcade DDR.

infinite prayer (ultramix)

Possibly the worst chart of all time.

The only one's in that list I disagree with are 22DUNK and OVERDOSER. I think both of them are understepped. Also, those jackhammers at the end of OVERDOSER are... something.

The only difference between the CLUB VERSION and DDRMAX when it comes to 22DUNK is the addition of a D-Heavy chart, which is just a copy of the D-Standard chart.

Also, I didn't say anything about Luv to me (disco mix), and I don't think it's a bad chart.

Also, I just played Take Me from DDR Hottest Party 4. While I don't think the chart is bad, 5 specific arrows in it's S-Heavy chart caught my attention.

Well, that's your opinion, Random. I just find it kinda distracting.

Also, I'm So Happy and Second Heaven's Challenge charts are much better, though the latter's patterns are pretty tough for a 14.

I'm so Happy Heavy is a great chart, it sucks that you find it boring.

@JM GAMING
Second Heaven is most certainly not better on Challenge, not sure what gave you that idea. Half the chart plays like guesswork. I'm so Happy Challenge is fantastic nonetheless.

IDK, I guess Second Heaven Challenge just grew on me. Believe me, I used to HATE that chart, mainly because it was the only 14 I couldn't PFC. (that tagline I have down there is talking about when I play on foot, which is usually only in arcades)

"MAGGLE"
I personally am not feeling A Minute S-Heavy on DDRMAX2. I could play the steps just fine, the music is good, but I don't feel satisfied after doing it. I have a lot more fun playing Justify My Love, Ever Snow, D2R, etc. I wouldn't say that it's a bad chart per se, maybe I just wanted it to go in another direction.

At the time (when I was overseas), that was the only thing I was stuck with, so I can't choose my other favorites from later mixes.

That chart is rather underwhelming, isn't it? Shame, because that's one of my favorite licenses.
I think Only You was disappointing, too. I know that 4thMIX came out long before they could get 24ths quantized properly, but come on!

Almost a 6-year necrobump, but I think that bumping this to mention Remain Challenge is well deserved. I'm quite entertained by it, honestly, since we haven't gotten very many charts that are that level of objectively terrible as of late. 1116 Challenge comes close, but at least it's only egregious in some ways and not both extremely overstepped AND extremely understepped like Remain Challenge is.

idk if I agree with it being the worst, but it does have me concerned with the direction the step artists wanna take things. It genuinely feels like they're forgetting that this isn't SM or DJMAX or something focused on keyboard/hands. And tbh, it doesn't even feel that good to play even if it were done on keyboard. The last few Challenge 18s/19s they've added, it's like they never bothered actually pad-testing what they're putting down. That kinda stuff bums me out so much. There's potential for these harder charts to be good, but they're so preoccupied filling up the charts with bullshit. Especially with the bursts. They've been thirsting for the bursting.

For me, it's not the presence of bursts that's the problem, I absolutely welcome them when they're musically justified. The problem I've been having with some of the higher level charts lately is that they've been putting bursts and streams where they don't belong and yet sometimes even in the same chart avoiding them in places where they are justified.

This. Aside from individual patterns, bursts feel nonsensical if they aren't backed by both musical elements and movement pacing. A burst chart can be a thrill to conquer if there's rhyme and reason, but it is a poor chart if it's done haphazardly.

My pet peeve chart is CELEBRATE NITEHeavy. I know, I know "Just do the spins, coward" but seriously, I do not know how to do some of these patterns without ending up facing backwards.

I can't play 18-19 charts so I don't have a strong opinion on them. I do see the humor in obvious troll charts though.
So glad The Cheat is not dead.
