[StepMania 5 Theme] [WiP] DanceDanceRevolution STARLIGHT

It's not a sequel, it's just new themes altogether. I don't want to follow Konami's trend of making a part 2 of a new DDR every 2 years. The next one isn't related to STARLIGHT, and the one after that isn't related to the previous one either.

I was gonna ask about if there was going to be a simfile pack to go with this heh.
Is that also being worked on by only you or are others able to pitch in and help with that?

It's being worked on by a team. I wouldn't be able to handle all of those files by myself. I was just in charge of the music direction and selection.

Actually, I think the STARLIGHT songlist is done although I still wouldn't mind taking suggestions. IDK if the next themes will be released with songs but you never know.

I'm not going to reveal the entire songlist in just one swoop, so I'm going to design Song Reveal pages like Konami did for DDR II. You won't be able to hear samples of the songs but at least they will be listed for you to see them. First STARLIGHT Song Reveal will be out on the night of the new year.

I will say this is one theme I am so excited to get that it made me download SM5.

I got it. But I still call it "sequel" actually.

First song reveal is for unlocked licensed songs, Second is another unlocked original songs, the Third is locked boss songs, and the Last is STARLIGHT DRIVE songs. Am I right?

<_< my oppionion is that you guys need to give the guy some breathing room about the songlist if anything why not just comission someone on one of the communites sites to make a 20~30 songs for you and pay them like 10~20 bucks for it. XD idk just saying. something i was thinking about doing on one of the other places i go to get the songlist done, banner artwork and the background artwork done something close to the theme and bam. XD

I'm flat broke and wouldn't be able to pay anyone for making songs. As far as graphics go, I'm doing all of them myself except for the trailer, intro movie and ending credits movie.

Do [all] the simfiles contain videos or are there filler "dancing characters" like DDR?

No I don't plan on including videos in the songs because I'd need to hunt down the correct videos then have someone cut them down to match the song and the project is going very slow as it is so no. People are welcomed to add their own videos once they are out.

I don't know why so many people are concerned about a song pack for this when it's really all about the theme. There are tons of song packs out there and so few themes for SM5. People should be getting hype for the theme being made here.

i agree with you, i'm sure everyone else does, i'm guessing it's because when you see a project this big you can't help but to think of the stepmania projects/themes of the past that basicly had a randomly brought in the idea to make it true mix by adding songs to bring the theme to life, everyone remembers themes like foonmix,strawberry steps and XXmix. i'm guessing everyone wanted this theme to achieve the level of awesomeness that this fan made mixes have that really looked official for their times. back in the 3.9 days

no disrespect to the creator or anything. i guess all the hype got to all of us on different levels. with it looking so close to a official theme people are asking for songlist so it can become the offical theme of SM5 XD

I totally agree with you. And XXmix and Foonmix were both amazing themes. but XXmix 3rd Act is like the Duke Nukem Forever of Stepmania, I mean seriously D:
