Honestly, my favourite system ever was Dance Master Mode from EXTREME2.

Nothing will ever beat the awesomeness of the missions on Mission Mode from Extreme US.

Just a video that was in my subscriptions:

Nothing new that we already know about the game, "more harder songs" makes it more plausable that this game may be getting a lot of hard charts, as well as something interesting in the comments about "hyperspeed" (The person is a nationally famous GH player, she was featured in The Ultimate Gamer and PSN's The Tester Season 1...so yeah) being in the game. We all know it isn't called hyperspeed, but she did mention that the full version will have some sort of variation of "hyperspeed" a.k.a speed

I liked the master modes, but I also like the DDR Points thing from HP3/HP4. It'd be nice if both could be included.

It would be nice if the store was brought back. I felt more like I was working for something everytime I got a song

I liked the Shop from SN1 but I doubt it'll return here.

I actually like Universe 3's Quest Mode, mostly because I unlocked all the songs rather quickly instead of having to put up with a bunch of nonsense (looking at you DDR X).

Same here. I remember playing SN1(my first DDR game) when I was 14 and getting so excited whenever I unlocked something via getting it in the shop and having enough points to buy it. I also thought it was cute when PiX stood on the side of it and said something each time you entered and exited.

My terrifying memories of unlocking Drop The Bomb have assured me that, yes, unlocking things quickly is a good thing.

"Well."
I'd rather be able to unlock stuff quickly too. D8; I remember when I first played HP1, and what a nightmare it was to unlock SUPER SAMURAI. U.G. kept kicking my ass, even on Beginner. 8D; I've improved a little since then, but I really prefer the Points HP3/4 had.

YES! The best and hardest songs are unlocks and that is where the replay value for me is. The initial list is usually a bunch of charts I can sightread AAA or get within a few tries.

Drop the Bomb SySF mix took me seven months to unlock. That wasn't too bad because I was still progressing from light to heavy (I couldn't pass DtB SySF on heavy when I unlocked it) so I had a lot of different charts to play. But I'm sure I'll never finish unlocking DDR X2 completely because while I like the list, there just isn't enough content to play 250 more songs unless I start playing doubles or want to AAA everything on light and standard.

I forgot about DtB, that took me over a year to unlock because I kept bailing out of the extra stages because I didn't want to play Max 300 for the billionth time backwards and failing it, and then wait for the main menu to come back up.(I guess I could have turned it off too). Little did I know that the first 3 songs would not count towards playing 500 songs to unlock DtB.

Let's just all agree that Drop The Bomb was the stupidest unlock of all time, and never mention it again?

...you guys DO realize you could have just passed the very last Challenge Course in the game and it would have been unlocked, right?

"DINGDONG♥HEARTS"
To be honest, I didn't see much of a problem to unlock a song after 500 rounds, despite the previous unlock at 170(?) rounds.

It's all a matter of perspective, I guess. My compulsive nature led me to filling in a grade of AA on each difficulty. 396 charts to play and I managed to unlock the song after completing all the single charts and all D-ligh and about half of D-sta, with a few D-hea.

The only issue I see from others is that not everyone plays everything. People tend to play the same songs over and over, without giving others a try, so it starts to feel like it's forever since, you know, playing the same songs over and over.

I finally unlocked Drop the Bomb recently after multiple corruptions and a shitload of instances where I forgot to save -_-. I have to say, the chart and remix are both disappointing considering the buildup to its unlock. They should have saved MAX 300 for the end.

@Max: Lol 21 song oni course. What were they thinking?

And I think Extreme 2/Supernova had the best system - giving you the option of playing individual songs or playing master mode to get the unlocks. This makes the songlist more accessible to beginners while maintaining the unlock difficulty for more experienced players who want to take on the full challenge mode.

Yeah, I got a kick out of PiX's little quips. Also the Pizza Box stage was pretty sweet.
The store was fun because I could work towards what I wanted. It took forever for the boss songs to show up in there, but at least the points required for costumes wasn't anywhere as bad as Extreme 2's. I still only have 4 or 5 alt costumes on that game...
Play my game Arcana Seal of Rimsala (SNES)!
