Max 300 is reasonable because of the song, the want to keep it at that BPM, but I can't think of a reason for Paranoia Survivor.

The only reason for the speedup is because Konami is afraid to use 16th streams. Just look at Max 300 and Paranoia Survivor vs. G2 and Xepher.
Yes, but even at 170BPM, that part still feels like it's just been tacked on and made needlessly harder than the rest of the chart.

At least there is a beat to go with the steps. I can't imagine Trim without the fury of the bass and drums in the 340 section. If there is a beat in the background, it should be used.

Would you rather have a chart like Poseidon Heavy and Uranus Heavy where there was so much potential with beat that was overlooked?

As for 16th streams, they are kind of pointless unless the song is chaos oriented. However I do believe that PARANOiA Survivor sounds really slow, especially when compared to PSM. They should have made the song 68.5-135 bpm so there would be a significant difference between the two songs.

What I'm saying is that these songs would have less stream if they were halved in speed, and Xepher would have a lot more at 340.

It'd be more Voltage than anything, I believe.

That wouldn't have happened, because any Konami PARANOiA mix has a reputation of being at least 180 BPM to uphold. That's why -Respect- wasn't 150 BPM (that, and .15k wouldn't have sounded as cool.)

Konami has been already blended high speed and low speed together on Fascination MAXX, Fascination ~eternal love mix~, Pluto & Pluto Relinquish, right ? Konami now not afraid to make combination like that.

Stream is total steps over time. It doesn't factor in speed.

Voltage, does, but it shouldn't change on a song of constant tempo. How they calculate voltage is strange though, I believe tempo shifts throw it off, so we get things like Poseidon having mad voltage. Constant tempo shouldn't change, step speed is step speed, but it'd be interesting to see...

I meant the stepcharts would be different. As you can see, Trim goes 10-footer insane at the 340 BPM part, but the rest is relatively tame. If all of it was 340 BPM, it would look more like an actual 10-footer. If Konami made Max 300 150 BPM, it would have less than 573 steps because they wouldn't use sixteenth streams.

Oh, yeah. MAX 300 Heavy single has 573 combos and 573 is codename for Konami (Notice jumps count 2 combos).

Sad but true. TRIP MACHINE PhoeniX is a great example of this. The Challenge chart is... pretty tame, especially considering all the drum rolls in the background I was expecting them to follow.

Eh. I plan to make an edit for it. TMP -Voltage Special-

That's another chart that had great potential but didn't follow through on like Poseidon and Uranus.

That just makes it easier on people like me to create something new. My Poseidon edit uses all of the beat in the background for a really nice 10 footer with high Chaos. Puppy Face

Honestly. When i play almost DDR SN2 songs on StepMania, I think the stepchart quality not good enough than previous DDR. Do you think the stepchart of JupiterHeavy, UranusChallenge, Shades of GreyHeavy, Ain't No Mountain High EnoughHeavy, etc enjoy to dance? Most DDR SN2 songs have 8 footer on Heavy but some of them don't represented 8 footer songs. It could be low 8 footer songs or absolutely not 8 footer songs but 7 footer songs (especially Ain't No Mountain high EnoughHeavy ).Almost DDR SN 2 songs stepchart are more easier than previous DDR that more difficult (Remember DDR MAX that have some 9 footer songs, especially on licensed songs).

I absolutely agree. Hell, there are 7's that are harder than half the 8's from SN2 (especially Shades of Grey and Ain't No Mountain High Enough). I remember thinking SuperNOVA was too easy, but SN2 is the lowest Konami could (or at least should) ever go. I hope the next game has a better balance of the difficulties, not just a bunch of 7's and 8's with a couple of 9's, a couple of 6's, and a few boss songs.

One of the boss songs should be anisakis! I could so make it. Actually, I'd like to post what I think the steps (or rythym) should be! Big Grin I'll make the Beginner,Light, and Standard charts of it now. Big Grin
