Da Pump's version is far more likely to come if any, seeing how it's a top 10 in Japan more than half a year later and Konami successfully licensed it to DanceRush.
stop being logical and let me wishfully think SMH but it'd be nice to see Konami license songs that are similar in nature to earlier dancemania tracks like 90s dance, legacy hits and remixes/covers of popular jpop songs (obviously not actual dancemania songs since dancemania is DEAD lmao but songs that fit squarely into the genres dancemania is associated with or featured)

If we're going for the throwback vibes, could always put another Porter Robinson I Can't Believe It's Not BEMANI Sound Team song in
Angel Voices will be the first 20

I've been thinking that some songs should get renewal charts like jubeat, and the older bemani crossovers should get their full, uncut version in and get new steps (i.e. blue impulse)
another weird idea I had is that like how dancerush has fake record labels for their Konami originals, A20 can have fake games (complete with interfaces and such) that represent different eras (like DDR selection but more expanded and has fake mixes lol) and some of the new songs would grouped by how their style fits into those fake games and would be playable/available in those folders

This challenge chart thing keeps coming up, but here's the thing: konami doesn't like to add new charts to old content. The last time we got new charts for an old song was Nijiro
in DDR 2014. If we get revivals, it's possible they'll come with an unlockable challenge chart, but current songs are unlikely to get new charts.
I also think they won't do long songs again, they've only done them twice and they were immediately removed in the next mix. They also chose not to port the full versions from DDR II indicating were unlikely to ever see more.

For anyone who's like me and can't remember when Nijiro came out, it was SuperNOVA. It's a very rare situation for something to have such a long gap between song and chart unless it's an X-special or Radar Special situation.
Quick Master won't be getting that level 15 Challenge chart anytime soon, more's the pity.

To further clarify before someone calls me out, it was actually Malacca
, not Nijiro.
Kind Lady (EXTREME), Tribe (X3), Malacca (X), and PARANOiA Kcet (X3) all received challenge charts in DDR 2014. Of those, only one of them was last featured before X.

Not really long songs, but what I meant is that older bemani crossovers that were shortened by a few seconds would finally have the same version as their debut game. Something like Colors would have the same length as it does in IIDX. Also Make A Jam! never got a new challenge
so yes it seems unlikely but I was wondering if they would implement a system as a new game feature in general like jubeat's [2] charts which would be cool TBH

Now I'm curious. This probably belongs in the General DDR thread, but fuck it. We're on the topic now. What's the longest gap between a song being released and it receiving a new chart? I initially thought it was Make a Jam but I must've misremembered, since it doesn't have any new charts in Ace.

PARANOiA KCET is from DDR CS though, or 2ndMIX LINK VER. if you want to count it by its arcade debut.

Do X Special Charts count? If they do, its Paranoia.

I think PARANOiA KCET still beats it though?
PARANOiA: Debut September 1998 - New chart February 2009 - 10 yrs 5 months
PARANOiA KCET: Debut April 1999 - New chart October 2014 - 15 yrs 6 months
At this point, any new chart for any song from 1st to EXTREME would beat this record.

After some research, I think PARANOiA KCET holds the record with over 15 years.
Max. (period) is a good 12-13 years, making it a contender for second place.

I'm not sure if PARANOiA KCET should be counted, because then you have to count MY FIRE, Make it better (so-real mix), Let's get Down, and all the other songs that got revived with challenge charts for X3 vs. 2nd Mix.

X3 vs. 2ndMIX happened in 2011-2012, whereas KCET happened in 2014.

But those songs were all originally used in the same year as PARANOiA KCET... which was brought back later.

Paranoia KCET was already still in arcades when X3 came out, still, it counts as 1st place for large gap between song debut and new chart added onto

Just wanted to pop in and say Nijiiro got their

Also, Paranoia KCET is still the correct answer though, because it's challenge charts arrived in 2014 and not X3..

WHAT I WANT IN THIS GAME:
- NO MORE vocaloid songs
-reduced number of "sugoi kawaii anime desu" songs (you know the type I'm talking about...)
-more funk / house music ala MAX-EXTREME era
- no more licensing songs that are trendy and topping the charts. Those songs don't age well. (e.g Break Free by Ariana Grande has already become dated)
-licensing dance songs that have stood the test of time. Think 90s songs like Scatman or Be My Lover. Fun classics that everyone knows and still enjoys.
