Licenses are disappointing...

Also can't wait for the DLC, it will make the game 100 times better knowing I can play old school songs on a next-gen console

That license list is really pathetic compared to previous games (SuperNOVA 1 & 2, I'm looking at you). I usually like/know 95% of the list and this time around I have heard of maybe 50%

Most disappointing to me is that there are too many songs that are obvious attempts to appeal to kids and teenagers that listen to pop music. Some of the songs Pie-kun listed I've heard of, and after hearing them at least 20 times DAILY on the radio I got sick and tired of listening to them, so there's no way I would want to play them on one of my favorite games that I play daily!

At least SuperNOVA 1 & 2 had decent (even good) licensed tracks, but this is just outright bad.

Seriously, the only good things about the songlist right now are Rio, Rescue Me and Missing.

According to you is a cool song. The 3 following it I would never play unless I was forced to at knife point with the knife already halfway in my stomach. But thankfully by then I'd be on the ground dead so wouldn't have to hear the song while I played it.

I actually think the license list is pretty good in terms of marketing to the casual crowd. It would be nice to have a few dance licenses though. All this stuff is mainstream pop. If this were to include the licenses from X2 as well, then I wouldn't be complaining.

I'm not too worried about the KO's though. There will probably be plenty of unlockables.

Seems like that will be the range for the songs available in-game, and the rest will be DLC.

I don't mind a song list around 60 so long as the DLC released is solid and is priced fairly.

official site updated, but nothing too amazing. They added a new section the "ABOUT THE GAME" section and added the licenses to the music page.

I don't know why everyone hates the license songs so much, I for one think the ones we know about are pretty good. I for one am sick and tired of all the complaining about the Licenses being too "Mainstream", it's getting really old. Anyway, the songs that I'm freaking out about at the moment are Bad Romance (I'm one of Gaga's Little Monsters so my being excited about this one is obvious), I've Got You (I REALLY like Leona's other song My Hands that got to be the theme for Final Fantasy XIII outside Japan), Let's Get Away (because it's catchy), Plastic Beach (I LOVE Gorillaz since I first heard Feel Good Inc.) and most of the other songs.

Understand that some people that play DDR aren't into mainstream and pop music as much as other people.
Heck, some of those people down right HATE any mainstream music that makes it onto DDR.

Being one of those people that doesn't listen to mainstream music, I can say that while I don't hate having licensed songs on the game,
I can see why people would object to it. DDR is mostly composed of KONAMI originals and BEMANI crossovers, which are played 99% of the time on arcade and home releases, so the remaining 1% is the licensed tracks which nobody usually plays with the exception of casual players (the ones who never play DDR but when they see a machine, they always go for the first pop song they recognize).

I do happen to agree with you though, some of the new licensed tracks are good (There are always a handful of licensed songs in every release that I can enjoy).

To each his/her own: if you like licensed music then good for you. If you hate it, then good for you. it's all about personal taste.

If I missed your point or If I left out anything I apologize for the wall of text, just putting my own opinion in here.
