Wow, the use of shock arrows there is terrible! I don't think it's neccesarily as bad as NGO oni or any of the other retarded SN2 charts, since the steps look like they'd be kinda fun aside from the shock spam.

Wow Trigger is like a better sounding Chaos/FELM type song. Fucking lame chart.

On the Bounce is a good song, I like all the bouncing , also this song reminds me a little of Until Forever by Beatdrop....anyone?

Finally unlocked Venus for normal play...fuck.

Oni is rated a 12. NO shock arrows, it's modeled after the Heavy except the beginning/middle are harder. The chorus/"VENUS JUST NOW YOU AND ME" part and similar but some parts are harder.

It's fucking awesome by the way.

i hadnt played that one yet, so i guess i hadnt noticed. anyway, i have a list of what i feel are legit complaints about this game. i'll spoilerize them i guess.

course mode is the same console BS we've been getting since EX2. this, ofcourse, means we wont be getting arcade accurate courses in the japanese version just like SN and SN2. pretty lame. non stop and oni shouldnt share all the same courses, stop being lazy.

no FC animation when you FC the song. seriously, its the PFC icon all over again. we'll get this next year and lack some cool feature of that game's interface.

all the songs dont have a CD icon on FS/ES, which is lame. thats pretty lazy konami. hell, boys, dub-i-dub, butterfly, get up 'n move, and hero already have them. thats 5 down.

shock arrow implementation is weak at best. they should have been more like mines. the effect is cool, but the display is lame and they arent implemented well into charts.

challenge charts are mostly just the same as another chart but with shock arrows(see saber wing). if this is the future of challenge charts, i'm not impressed. also, shock arrows need to be on expert as well. difficult and basic when applicable(IE boss songs). i guess this and the one before it are one complaint strewn over two ideas.

boys 2008 was based on the original maniac chart, and not the 4th+ chart. if dub-i-dub and butterfly could base theirs on the newer, better charts, why not boys?

no "staple" licenses, aside from the 5 2008 songs. other games included "classic" licenses like extreme 2 having cartoon heroes, speed over beethoven, look at us, butterfly upswing and SN having sobakasu. the 2008 charts count as new songs, IMO. i would have liked to see some more songs that made DDR what it is today, KOs included. i know we've seen it a million times, but its not a "big deal" game without dynamite rave, paranoia, trip machine, afronova, am-3p, b4u, brilliant2 u, etc. considering this is the 10th anniversary game, i think this was lame on konami's part.

the way things are looking, they expanded ratings to 20 and arent giving us one. WTF?

edit-almost forgot, no combo flash based on judgment.

in positive news, what we did get in terms of songs and charts is damn good IMO. the game has some faults, but over all its solid. i dont regret the purchase, but i do think that considering its the 10th anniversary some things should have been done.
