You could probably just have the theme ignore SetMessageCommands that don't have an Index param or otherwise deal with that somehow.

This is because Lua errors in the theme are causing 4986 Warnings to be written to disk every time you move once in the MusicWheel.
The errors originate from ./Graphics/MusicWheelItem Song NormalPart.lua, specifically that there are multiple places where the theme's Lua is expecting SetMessageCommand to provide an Index parameter, but there is none.

I'm unable to comment on the "black border around all of the grid jackets" because I don't play DDR and have no idea what the theme is supposed to look like.
It seems like adding Index,0 to those lines does nothing but make the grid/wheel invisible. I'm not sure what the proper index would be.
Edit: Seems like this isn't why the wheel lags (though it should be fixed). MusicWheelItem Course NormalPart.lua keeps calling global functions of arrangeXPosition and arrangeXPosition2, and SM thinks they're null. The functions are not defined or used in the Course NormalPart file, but MusicWheelItem Song is used as an actor. I'm pretty much lost at this point.
Select Music screen is lag when switching music is because the difficulty label / clear label on the music wheel. And anything that shows the detail of the song or playing record.

Quick fix patch for this theme. This will remove errors in Select Music screen mostly caused by Music wheel.
Instruction:
- Open DDRA/Graphics folder then delete all folders, lua and redir files that has "MusicWheel" and "MusicWheelItem" in filenames.
- Extract the contents of this patch to the same directory.
This is just a quick fix so if you noticed differences (if there is any) in coordinates, zoom and/or animation, feel free to fix it by yourself.
Get it here.

That RAR file seems to be corrupted on my end.
Edit: Works in WinRAR. Guess 7-Zip hates it for some reason.
Edit 2: The fonts seem weird. Seems like for at least the sections they were changed to something that's not in the theme. Gonna fix that and I'll try to put the patch up here tomorrow.

There’s no reason the difficulty label should lag, that’s information that’s kept in RAM and is very fast to access.

DDR A have 3 EXTRA STAGE BGs:
- EXTRA SAVIOR: are songs that unlock on EXTRA STAGE, as DDR(2014)'s EXTRA ATTACK.
- EXTRA EXCLUSIVE: are DDRMAX-like EXTRA STAGE songs. (ENDYMION have other BG due to the satellite that crash against the Earth and Rinon LV 3 must destroy it.)
- Regular EXTRA STAGE: is triggered if the song is not EXTRA EXCLUSIVE or unlockable via EXTRA SAVIOR.

I figured this might be the case, is there any way to adjust these options otherwise though? Or if nothing else, I don't mind modding the theme a little myself - is it at all possible for me to add another entry to the main options for song speed or something? Or to reenable that screen somehow?

Great theme, but I also have the issue where SM crashes upon failing a song. Using SM 5.0.12. Appears to be an issue with the theme, since it doesn't happen with other themes. Edit: looks like this only happens when IMMEDIATE fail is turned on. Doesn't crash with IMMEDIATECONTINUE.
