1.05.00 update info translation:

+ Hi-Speed options will go in increments of 0.5 up to +5.0
+ You can now change the Hi-Speed option at the pause menu.

Yellow is where they got an Unlock Challenge for a song they already had, orange is when they played a song they didn't have, and red is when they got an Unlock Challenge on a song they didn't have (and unlocked the song itself). They were 0/340 on new song unlocks in the 2nd festival but went 3/300 in the 3rd festival, and 17/340 (5%) for Unlock Challenges in the 2nd festival and 21/300 (7%) in the 3rd festival. Looks like Capcom drastically increased the chances of both Unlock Challenges and getting a song you don't already have, possibly in response to all the complaints from before.

Maintenance is finished. There will be a mini event coming, called "Touch Of Gold Festival".

The event is similar to the past events with cumulative high score. However, this time it will be a team battle as you will be randomly put into a team of 10 members to compete for high score.

The top 100 teams will get "Touch Of Gold (Bongo Mongo remix)".

You will also unlock a skin when you have 300000 cumulative scores and above

Event started. Good luck if you get multiple idle 0 RP accounts in your team. Had 4, but the rest were 1100-1600 RP players who were reasonably active. Getting that 100 rank is a nasty luck-based mission.

The event is in fact a grinding event. The team score is cumulative and not based on the highest scores of the 3 songs from each members... so unless you have tons of premium tickets and link energy to spend on playing someone's Touch Of Gold (since this score will be x1.5 when you play the song under shared musics) + a pretty active team members, your team will probably not going to make it in the top 100...

well, I'm already done, 3 people active in my team, rest are asleep or whatever q.q

We'll only 2 inactive people in mine - ranking 54 at the moment...
I've just been grinding 雨の音 on other people's shares because you get 3 goes in 9 tickets and 1.5x for playing it as a share song.
So I'm getting roughly (23000 x 3) x 1.5 = 103500 every time I play.

Damn... Looks like you only get 1.5x for playing Touch of Gold .... Oh well.

By the way is anyone else having trouble accessing the shop?
Just keeps giving me connection errors in an endless loop.

Well, this event combines my 3 biggest pet peeves of online games: Pay-to-win, forced grind, and having to team up with random strangers.

I figured I'd register for it anyway, since it couldn't hurt. Well, it's been nearly 16 hours since the event started (and 21 hours since it was supposed to start ), and currently 8 of the 10 members on my team have contributed absolutely nothing. My meager contribution currently constitutes just over 2/3rds of the team score. Which is not unlike all my past experiences with teaming up with randomly-assigned strangers online. And most school projects.

At this point, I'm actually hoping someone hacks this event to give themselves a hilariously high score like what happened with the Flawless Attack one. Normally I just facepalm at cheaters, but given the crappiness of this event, not only would I find it hilarious, but it's the only way I can foresee myself possibly deriving any entertainment value out of the event.

Edit: And I've just noticed that they've started selling Link Energy Packs in the shop (for real money, of course), during an event where you get 1.5x on all 3 songs if you play them as a friend's Share Song. Wow, what a coincidence.

I just found a KONMAI (or should I say a CAPMCO? That seems to be a thing on 2ch now) in the event: Your individual rank display uses your team rank number to determine its ordinal suffix. So for example, if your team is in 123rd place and your individual rank is 789th, your individual rank will display as "789rd". (Insert your own "DDR 8rd Mix" joke here.)

Whoa it looks like I'm gonna get this song, my team rank is 31 now. I'll do a lineout as soon as I can after the event...

My team has dropped from 34 to 48...was hoping to get in the top 50 so I can at least have 1 free chart.

Also, I had fun trying to converse in Japanese in the team chat room.

You don't have to, I already got it covered. Fortunately my team is at 14!

Oh. Nope. Shop still ain't working for me.

Suddenly I'm getting "connection error" messages trying to do virtually anything. It took about 3 tries to log in, then about 4 more errors in trying to navigate to the leaderboards. This suggests that (a) people are hammering the servers trying to view the leaderboards at the last minute, and (b) the always-on DRM in this game requests something from the server for every single menu transition. The latter would certainly explain the "emergency maintenance for user data load balancing" back at launch as probably PR speak for "oops, we accidentally DDoS'ed ourselves".
