The Second Florida Thread

The pads at D&B are beginning to degrade again, as anticipated, with pad misses beginning to crop up. Especially 2P right. I wasn't the only one to notice, either.

I did manage to get another PFC, however: Gorgeous 2012.



I wasn't expecting this to occur, as I was already exhausted, and at one point lost track of my feet. If I had tried this earlier in my session, I probably would've had half the perfects.

That's a damn shame. Hopefully whoever fixed them up last time will get on it again. 2P side was screwing up last Wednesday when I went, so I imagine it's only getting worse.

In other news we are probably getting x3 by the end of January...Just need to get all the money together to make this happen ...

That's awesome! Will it be put on the machine at The Geek Easy or will this be an entirely new machine?

On a side note, D&B pads are getting a little rough. 1P up arrow is sticking really bad, mostly on 14s and up. I told one of the employees the pads are getting bad and he said he'd let the tech know, so hopefully they'll get on that soon.

I don't think the X series can be put in the classic cabinet, can they? And I don't think he'd want to anyway.

I was just curious. I know pretty much nothing about the technical side of DDR machines.

Whatever it's upgraded from, I don't think it's in the budget for us to have one of these sexy beasts.

With those killer lights on the sides too? Man you better pray for a miracle.

The newer DDR titles are compatible with the older machines types. You can technically get a 1st Mix to 2013 with the proper hardware upgrades.

Haha, I wish! A brand new cab is probably around 10k, maybe more. I don't think we'll be seeing one of those in FL.

Not sure why you would want to use one of those cabinets when a SuperNOVA cabinet with a flat CRT works terrific on the newer games. Plus it's easier to maintain the pads.

with the legit hardware u would have to run a cab that has an ext i/o...In other words sn1 cab or higher ...so yes the cab will change since i own a sn1 cab and a sn2 cab one of those will be going in place of the cab i have at the geek easy right now

It's just pretty. As long as the machine plays well, I'll be happy, and I know you guys have that under control.

EDIT: Also, if X3 is going in the Geek Easy, they should really do something about shutting off the machine all the time.

I take it you modded your SN cab with an LCD? They originally came with CRTs, and I've seen people mod arcade cabs with LCDs since CRTs just aren't made anymore.

yeah, I really hope they don't shut the machine off all the time..There's basically less than 5 locations in the us that have x3 so this would make them a premiere location for x3....

Maybe you should try an LCD some time. The only reason I thought of it is because Kon is talking about refurbishing a Beatmania machine, and part of that is fitting a low-latency LCD.

CRT all the way, baby. SN/SN2 dedi monitors are gorgeous.
