I thought of second chance. Have the winner of Second Chance face off against the main runner-up, and the winner of that plays the main winner in a BEST OF 5 ULTIMATE BATTLE OF ULTIMATE DESTINY 2011 VERSION.

Make it happen and this would be something unsatisfying for the guy who is supposed to win.

I'm just following what Wikipedia thinks a double elimination is.

To be honest, this is pretty standard, so far as double elim goes. The first Pump tourney I attended ran like this, and the Second Chance winner faced off for two hours against the main bracket winner (ties, lol) before finally being shut down.

We probably should have thought of this before the idea of a "losers bracket" started getting thrown around :{
My best suggesiton :
Everyone knocked out of the tournament goes into the "Runners-Up Bracket". They all have the option of continuing to submit files every week, and every week, as well as voting for which players advance in the tournament, we also vote for which of the "Runner-Up" simfiles we liked the most.
I don't think the runners-up should take part in tournament-style brackets, because people lose interest quickly. It would be better if The Runners-Up Bracket functioned like the normal Summer Tournament, and we just pick out which of the 8 (or 16 next week) runners-up entries that we like the most?

review time! This bracket was REALLY well matched.
Bye Bye Bye
2011-02-28 22:25:21 Telperion: Daiz, you stepped the Bye Bye Bye move in your chart
2011-02-28 22:25:23 Telperion: I'm toast
Black UFO vs. I Drove All Night
I didn't really like either of your S-Oni charts...both were overstepped pretty badly. I Drove All Night just really couldn't support all of those arrows. In Black UFO's case, the patterns used were too dense and straightforward - and, although it's common ITG customs practice to do that to parapara, I don't think it ends up being worth it. So I played the S-Heavy charts too. Those were much better grounds for distinction; Black UFO had good rhythmic ideas but not enough development (rule of 4
), while I Drove All Night had good rhythm and development (but too many jumps, haha).
Also: happy that Black UFO had a doubles chart, but sad when it turned out to be Mellow with a couple interesting doublesteps.
----------------------------------
Club Can't Handle Me vs. Let Me
Oh, God, I have to choose. The groove of Club Can't Handle Me versus the sex of Let Me...I honestly need more time to think this one through. Both of you did a fantastic job of coming up with patterns that mirror the music (Let Me) or the words (Club Can't Handle Me). Both of you hooked the intensity changes with fine form. And both of you picked tracks I never, ever, ever would have stepped
I like the patterns in Let Me just a smidge more than those in Club Can't Handle Me, so I guess that's how I decide this one. ugh.
D.A.N.C.E. (MSTRKRFT Remix) vs. Playing with Fire
Dammit, you two made this one difficult. The song choice is almost interchangeable (126 vs. 122 BPM, a lot of focus on the strong bass beat), and both sets of charts are extremely well done. There's not much sense dwelling on quarter note doublesteps, because the tracks are slow enough to allow recovery time. Playing with Fire edged out D.A.N.C.E. (MSTRKRFT) only because I "felt" the charts more - close bass following, jumps on the measures, the little things. I wish I had more of a distinction between these two files to give you, but all I can say is that it was very close.
What is a Snake (T2Kazuya) - Automatic Advance
(may post review)
Radio Hardcore - Party through Trance
(may post review)
----------------------------------
Boom Digi Da vs. Werewolf Boyfriend
How am I supposed to compare these files?
Boom Digi Da:
I haven't even passed one of your D-Oni charts yet on index - my keyboard won't recognize certain quads, quints, and...hexes, so I can't get a proper run of the chart. (This isn't going to affect the review btw, I don't expect you to compensate for my keyboard lol)
I'd rate these charts 5-7-10-11 instead of 4-6-8-10.
Avant-garde doesn't mean putting hands in D4's. Ipity the foo' worry that somebody just getting comfortable with doubles movement might be turned off by those hands.
D-Heavy: m20 is a bit painful. m29 is really fast to get up from the knee holds in m28; m54 is worse, and I simply can't reach behind me for m54-55 like that.
D-Oni: m15...EXPLAIN TO ME! m18...EXPLAIN TO ME! m20...well, if I remember to put my left hand and right foot on the holds, it'd work. m26-27, ouch. m29 see D-Heavy. m35-36...EXPLAIN TO ME! m49...buhhhhhh fine. m58 no thx not reaching behind.
In short, I'll play the D-Heavy on pad someday, but I'll switch m54-55 around so I don't die.
Werewolf Boyfriend:
Well, there's a lot less to say about this one. No curvehands, I mean handballs, I mean curveballs in these charts (except for that one surprising stop). I like the emphasis on the oh! (oh!) parts and those offbeat patterns for that one weird sound that just doesn't fit in the song but rapes your attention anyway. Also, lol Twilight. Diskowarp is so down with the kids
I'm going with the file that I didn't have the urge to drastically modify the charts of

Everything's really good at this point, and I don't think I know enough about anything to really give reviews :{
Feuer Frei is my favorite song in the round. It's a great chart, that requires effort to play, but isn't tiring or excessive. It slots into that nice gap between 8-footer and "boss song", that I'm happy to play all day long

I'll go and play all the entries in the Runner-Up bracket. Are we voting on 1 entry, or 1st/2nd/3rd?

I think you mis-read my idea, then.
I suggest that we vote for which of the 5 runner-up entries is the best runner-up entry, in the same way we vote for songs in the Summer Tournament.

The only issue with that is the losers of the current round need a runners up-seed to fall on.

I base my ratings on how difficult I think the chart is for someone able to do the hands. Also, I haven't passed more than 1 or 2 official DX 11s no bar, but I can no bar most of my hand charts. The 4 has hands because it's intended to provide an easy chart with hands so people can get used to hands in an easy setting. Putting hands only on expert is silly because it doesn't provide an easy environment for becoming accustomed to hands.I haven't even passed one of your D-Oni charts yet on index - my keyboard won't recognize certain quads, quints, and...hexes, so I can't get a proper run of the chart. DH:
m20 is just a simple stretch, not sure what's painful about it.
m29, yeah, that is pretty fast. I didn't want to ignore the "Gotta give me" part of the lyrics.
m55, if the hands are behind you, you're facing the wrong way.. Left foot should be on down, right foot on up.
DX:
The jumps at the beginning are a sort of warning. Be ready to stretch.
m15: Do a crossover with your feet while holding the up arrow with your hand. Lots of this kind of thing in the chart.
m18: Same idea as m15, but simpler.
m20: Your feet go on the holds, same as in DH. Then your left arm reaches under your left leg and your right arm over your right leg. I think your idea of putting a foot on one hold and a hand for the other would be a lot harder.
m24, 27: More moving your feet while your hand is holding a freeze.
m35-36: Right foot hits L2, left foot hits R1. You lean over and hit R2 with your right hand, then hit it and hold it. Then you do the 8th triples with your feet while holding the hold with your hand.
m49: Keep your feet and knees in the positions they're already in, and stay down. Tap with your knees, then tap with your feet.
m54-55: Should be sufficient to just take out the LD "jump" and the 16th triple. Then you should have no trouble surviving.
m58: Okay. Seemed easy enough to me.
Took me two tries to pass DX, and I'm really discoordinated today. So I'm satisfied with the charts.

My bad; I gave the chart a fresh once-over and you're right about the the foot location. I must have switched my feet fingers without thinking about it.
And, by the way, I'm not trying to attack your charts - I just wanted to give you some granular feedback on them, since not a lot of people besides me like handplants in charts. I don't think I'd have a problem passing the DX chart on pad, now that I've played it on index a few times. I simply thought a few of the patterns were disproportionate

Also, you should play more D11's. Rebirth D11's, if you have to. A lot of official 11's are misrated, but you should at least be able to get Clockwork Genesis, Tribal Style, and Sweet World.

I don't see it as an attack, I expect people to need some explanation for my more technical charts. It's good that you asked.
Tribal Style DX and 30 Minutes Harder DX are the only DX 11s I've no barred.

Tyma, I added all your votes into my tally excluding Werewolf Boyfriend which I have now added.
Mine should contain Tel's, mine, yours and Pandy's.
