Some notes from BEMANIwiki:
- Dynamite Rave and Dynamite Rave Air Special both now have the new lyrics.
- In addition to Golden Sky, Fly Away and Angelus were still available.
- End of the Century appears to have been removed?
- Dynamite Rave and Dynamite Rave Air Special both now have the new lyrics.
- In addition to Golden Sky, Fly Away and Angelus were still available.
- End of the Century appears to have been removed?
- What about new steps?
- Fly Away is not a licensed song, there should be no concern for a removal, Angelus is SN2, which none of those licenses are said to have been removed.
-EotC was removed on US and EU versions of X AC.
Only going off of what I read there:
Quote: BEMANIwiki
Which said most SN/SN2 licenses were gone, and these songs remained. Didn't know about EotC getting the boot in X US/EU, though.
Also the site mentions both versions of True.. weren't there. Like someone mentioned earlier, this is only a location test build so I'm taking it with a grain of salt until the real thing comes out.

By the way, are you planning to fill out a survey and write in the test notebook? If you do, could you please ask that they add an announcer ON/OFF option?
Write it in big letters over and over and over again, filling the entire survey and test notebook.
Nothing else needs to be changed as seriously as that.

I'd like more announcer options than just On/Off. "Combo Only" would be amazing, for one. I'd also love to see "Perfect Combo Only" and "Marvelous Combo Only", though those are already handled with the awesome new combo meter so it's not as big of a deal. Also, some people may want "No Booing".

The difficulty area looks a little barren with all the void space not taken up by the word. Might be nice to have some sort of animation there; perhaps a fake equalizer pulsing to the beat of the song? Or some graphic representation of the numerical difficulty.
It looks so... CS. Timer seems a little shoved in there. I think it's just a matter of getting used to change. I'd really like to see it in motion.

I guess they expected Fly Away to go at the same time as the licenses, since it's neither a comission or an in-house song. We had no idea what kind of deal they have with Chiyotia, so I guess now we do? ^^;
Angelus is a license from an anime, so I'm surprised that even stuck around for more than one game, when songs like Thunderbirds and Super Mario Bros proved to be much more popular, but never got that honor.
I wish we knew what songs *were* removed. That would make it easier to keep track.

Uh, what? I really don't know if Angelus was MADE just for an anime...was it? Also Fly Away was produced by Shoichiro Hirata, making it an in house song.

So Possession is only unlocked by getting AAAs then?
Actually, I rather like that. Mainly because AAAs are an alien concept to me, so I won't be worried about failing my final stage.

Not sure if Angelous was written specificaly for Inuyasha or not, but that's the reason it's famous (and probably expensive to license).
Fly Away probably isn't in-house. It's produced by one guy who very occasionaly contributes to Bemani, but it's written and sung by a licensed group as a one-off appearance. Chiyota and Hirata are probably not on the Konami payroll, and likely receiving royalties everytime Konami use it in a game.
I think the line between "Konami Original" and "In-House Production" got blurred along the lines, somewhere. There's probably a difference between something made entirely in-house (by people who get a monthly Konami paycheck), and something comissioned to other artists, who get paid a lump sum, or a royalty payment, to produce "Konami Original" songs.
The effective difference is that something like Drop The Bomb will stay around forever, because it was entirely produced in-house, wheras something like Dynamite Rave has a recurring cost, because Konami are eventually going to stop paying royalties to the artists who made it, or the licensing contract is going to run out?

I'm already nervous man. Don't make it worse!!!
I'm definitely stressing they need an announcer option. Either modifying the sound or just switching it off completely.
I will also strongly suggest an offset option pointing out its the best way for non-eamuse machines to correctly sync their timing issues without e-amuse updates.
My thing is this. I would like to see more challenge charts for more if not most songs. What is stopping them from making an oni chart for a song? At what criteria do they decide that this song will have an oni step and this one wont? They might as well just add more oni charts to enhance the overall play time for the players.

I'm not sure if this is unique to the UK version of the game, but the announcer turns itself off on the Final / Extra / OMES stages. Does the japanese version do this, or did they add it after people complained about the announcer being a distraction?

So DDR FINALLY goes true-widescreen HD. I bet those screenshots don't do any justice to the real thing.
Uh X AC is widescreen...
Adding more sky to the sides of the screen is hardly taking advantage of it. This time the interface actually takes advantage of the game being in a widescreen, so that's why I said it's finally going TRUE-widescreen HD.

They seem to make better use of the screen space in SELECT MUSIC, but as far as in-game is concerned, it's pretty much the same.

Of course I was referring only to the select music screen. Widescreen can't really improve the experience that much in the main gameplay, unless they use the extra space to the sides to show some kind of real-time stats (like burned calories or how you're doing compared to previous plays a la IIDX graph bars).

Well they have room on the screen for Versus 6-panel now, haha. But, arcade pads don't have an A or B button (or Para Para-style sensors) so they wouldn't even be able to add LR-to-diagonal gimmicks like in HP3. It would be interesting to have a selectable Gimmick mode at the arcade, though.
But yeah, I agree entirely that there should be tons more Challenge charts. I don't think boss songs should be the only ones with 14+ stepcharts, and thanks to e-Amuse Konami's gotten to see all kinds of great hard edits for their songs (not to mention their disclaimer where they own the rights to those edits). Heck, they had tons of great edits back in 5th Mix PSX, and showcasing those was one of the main reasons I opened a simfile category. It's extra content that they already own the rights to, so why not splurge and really impress the fans?

I'll third the "Announcer Option" and Second to have the option to change the announcer, even add the Universe series announcer (she sounds hott) and wasn't it in one of the Ultramix games that had both male and female announcers? Would like to have that option added in as well. Seriously though the announcers can be a major league pain and can totally distract you from playing the game.
Hell it would be nice if this option were added to the CS versions of the DDR games.

Oh, and I fourth the Announcer Option. However, I'd like the developers to reduce the frequency of the announcer. I don't need the announcer popping up every 4 seconds only for me to mess up...
