Personally, I'm glad that Konami is adding in new features to the game. The game has entered its 10th year, so it's time for some new things.

You obviously don't remember how much these exact same "new features" completely ruined Ez2DJ and Beatmania III :{

I never played, or cared for Ez2DJ, same with beatmaniaIII (although I do care about that), but just because it's a new feature for IIDX doesn't mean it has to be ruined. The game is just getting started; give it a break.

I would like to see some videos of these new features being implemented. Because Charge Notes don't appeal to me. I am playing beatmania IIDX not DJMAX. And the scratch thing sounds really lazy. I need to see these in action.

Sort of ... except you could miss the entire thing in the US version and it won't penalize you and you could scratch whatever direction you like.

If these new gimmicks are optional, then it won't be much of a problem.

I like the charge notes. I'm shocked that it wasn't added on a long time ago. As for the back spins, It could be cool as long as they don't make it harsh to hit.

I think the new features sound great! They're a way to make IIDX harder without going the same route as Mendes [b], which to me sounds like a great idea. And I doubt that konami would make the game without the option to turn it all off. They have similar options in DDR for freeze arrows and such, so why not for IIDX and charge notes/backspins? And just like with shock arrows, it's great to see them trying something new instead of giving up. You can't complain about another IIDX style lol.
