I remember what happened that faithful day too.

2004: I just got DDRMAX and two dancepads in a bundle from Sam's Club, a giant store for businesses that sell in bulk.

I got home, thinking that I still had some skills from like 4 years before and I saw Healing Vision (Angelic Mix). I was like OMG AWESOME! A Healing Vision Remix! (The game I had before MAX was Konamix)

Played it on difficult, then went WTF and saw something new in info.

Read it. Became angry.

Tried to play it. Failed.

Depression.

Yeah, that song is pretty awful. Konami's going to look at this thread and revive it for DDR X.

If they revive it with the same requirements to unlock and message from DDRMAX, the head of every DDR player and their mothers would explode.

Speaking of which, I liked the messages they put in the games when you unlock/play a song. When I read FELM's message, I was like...

They need more awesome statements like that for boss songs. Too bad they skipped SN1. I would LOVE to hear what they have to say about Xepher, MAX 300 (SMMM), FAXX, HDV, etc.

Is the song that bad? I happen to like it, and the idea of it making a return appearance for DDR X sounds like it has a chance (celebrating 10 years and all...) Sure, the way it would be earned in MAXUS CS was a little messed up, but I didn't mind since the reason why I got it was because I lost on ORION.78 (civilization mix), where at the time I really wasn't that good. Or was it Healing Vision (Angelic Mix)...

That's awesome. Reminds me of the neat little information mode Konami stuck in Fusion CS for us Europeans where you'd unlock songs, get certain grades for the first time etc, and the game would notify you and give you a bit of text like that. I don't think Dancing Stage Max was quite that informative on unlocks, also it's really interesting to hear that you had a similar system so early on in DDR MAX.

Wouldn't it be cool if messages from Konami popped up in DDR X CS when you clear certain conditions? Like fun little quotes and pieces of information about the game and it's creation along with unlocks? I think something like that could prove a nice touch. Doubt they could squeeze that in the AC version though...

What is this message they put in about FELM? Could you describe it to me at all please?
Also does anyone know if these messages are listed anywhere for reading? It sounds like it might be fun to have a look at them.

Silent Hill was another one. You had to fail an oni course to unlock it. Although I strongly disagree with the supposed connection between failure and THL.

I kind of can't believe that DDR fans are happy about the big changes, save mines. People like the cabinet? I like the cabinet, but I also like Chaos. I just assume that a majority of DDR players hate everything. Although if Konami had to hit just one homerun with the hardcore fans, at least it was with the hardware that we'll be using eternally.

Yes, that is pretty cool. I used BemaniWIKI for information before, but now you need a Japanese IP to get in, so I have to use a proxy.
