The 88's Instigation(?!)

Am I wrong for thinking that it's a reference to a certain group of people who tried to take over the world in the 1930's and 40's?
And yes, I just logged in for the first time in probably a year to ask that.

That’s certainly not impossible given the sometimes weird obsession Japan can have with that, but it’s not the impression I get from the song itself.

MYUKKE. has two other songs called The 90's Decision and The 89's Momentum, so it's likely meant more as a reference to that.

Especially noteworthy that MYUKKE released 90's Decision first, then 89's Momentum, so this is clearly riffing on that moreso than anything else. It's just wild to see a sequel to a Muse Dash song in DDR of all places.

Asking again because nobody answered

I keep hearing people mentioning that the timing windows have changed, or that the game uses millisecond timing instead of frame timing now. Is there any confirmation of this or am I being memed

I haven’t seen anyone say they changed to MS timing. I’ve seen discussion that game wide the sync is improved, more than just the song specific changes mentioned before release, but again nothing confirmed there either. It might just feel better because we can put every song at our comfort scroll speed now.

Since a mod mentioned in this thread previously that a game file was going to be used to track all the rating changes and that’s done now, I think it’s safe to go ahead and say people do have this game and if the timing was changed from frame based to MS we would 100% know that for sure.

What's a Flare Gauge?

It was a special life gauge that was active in the final event of DDR A3 and is now a selectable option in DDR WORLD. The gauge goes down depending on what judgement you get on a step and won't refill. There are various levels of difficulty you can set it to. On the highest level (EX), anything less than marvellous will deplete the gauge (meaning you can PFC a song and still fail).

The songs on the menu on WORLD have an indicator of what flare level you've cleared the song at, replacing the lamps from A3.

I'm not a fan of how they went all in on the Flare Gauge as the big gimmick of this mix, especially since there are songs locked behind using this feature.

A new patch for WORLD dropped. As of this update:
-You no longer need to use the numpad to bring up options, long pressing works again!
-Turn options were moved to page 1 of the options menu
-The judgment font is now fully colored based on judgment, and not white with a colored background
-Note background has been darkened more

Another big update slated for tomorrow. The remaining five songs from the vocal audition winners:

Happy Dance Day 2 U / Shoichiro Hirata feat. ちょぴん
Move On / kors k feat. haru
Niji no Sekai / SOUND HOLIC feat. taru
踊れ!!バーチャルアニマル!! / nc feat. TOCORO+
きらきら☆ユニバース / nagomu tamaki feat. ぼめ

Four new packs are being added to DDR GRAND PRIX, Grand Prix packs volume 27 and 28 and Special pack feat. DANCERUSH STARDOM(!) volume 1 and 2, with (unfortunately) only one new song each:
Volume 1: THE SAFARI (STARDOM Remix) / BST "SYUNN"
Volume 2: 音楽 (STARDOM Remix) / CosMo@暴走P
As always, buying these packs gives early access to the new songs in arcades.

Buy both DRS packs to unlock Challenge charts for the new songs. Buy both Grand Prix packs to unlock Challenge charts for Drop The Bounce and ミッドナイト☆WAR.

Throw Out will also be getting a Challenge chart tomorrow.

Not going to lie, this mix is such a breath of fresh air from what we have got in terms of UI/theme. Not to mention the new announcer that actually says "Marvelous Full Combo" whenever you MFC something. I did have a single gripe about it, but that issue was fixed in the latest patch, which is quite crazy imho.

I am sure there are going to be lots of revisiting on older songs to make those ranks easier over time, kinda like what they did with wadatsumi (for White Era) and Crazy Love (for Classic Era), and I am so for it haha.

Not to mention the insane amount of bangers they have been putting out in the game lately, not only in this mix, but in A3/A20+ as well.
