"Oh god what I have dooooone?!"
I have to say, it might be an idea to expect this to be an absolutely crap game right now, because it does appear to be missing a few things. I'm not even too sure if the Octo Move will still be implemented, I haven't heard mention of it since 2009.
I hope to god that they don't remove doubles mode. As for Edit mode, it shouldn't be too hard to implement anyway, it's likely to be one of the last things they add since people weren't likely to sit in the demo room making edits.
Challenge mode might be changed, but I doubt they'd remove it unless it was entirely intended to be a dance hero game.

But then this could be, as you guys say, an attempt to reinvent the series to imitate guitar hero and similar games.
And if could be just that they're testing the capabilities of the PS3. The first ps2 Dancing Stage games were quite limited in their capabilities, and only had 28 songs on the first two mixes.

Dancing Stage Megamix PS2 was released on May 30, 2003, DDRMAX 6th Mix PS2 was released on May 16, 2002.*

I think it's not due to Konami still experimenting with DDR for the PS2, I think they had problems putting the club mix songs
and the Dancemania licenses from the USA PS2 version (I'm pretty sure that USA and PAL DDR PS2 semi-shared songlists)
to Megamix (the same with the KOs plus their challenge remixes for Fever).

I wouldn't be surprised if this one ends up as a different DDR game, as that trailer from so long ago shows the 360 version,
and they seem to be taking the PS3 version to a different direction.
And I wager its officially not gonna use any of the licenses from last year's games, with the exception of those included in
the AC version.

Thank you so much, Lord Toon!

Actually yes my argument does seem a little invalid relaly, keeping in mind that Party edition was pretty well recieved. (or at least, enough to go platinum) so I guess even estimating the acceptance of a euro ps2 ddr wouldn't make sense.

I'm still keen for my 360 version though, I just got DS Universe 2 and like it. Interestingly enough though, even comparing say, Supernova 2 and Universe 2, the difference between the two is quite significant, even though they were released pretty much simultaneously. The song genres are just... different.
In any case though, if it comes out here (or I can get it in my region code) I'll definitely be adding it to my library. If it doesn't, I might have to save up for a ps3 and import this one coming.

enter Club Mode. This is the "Master Mode" for the DDR PS3 version. From what i can tell, you just complete songs with certain conditions/no conditions and you just keep...playing...the song...yuuuup.

Uh...no?

The Club Mode is geared more toward hardcore DanceDanceRevolution fans where the player can play songs consecutively. The difficulty level varies depending on how well the player is dancing and several different gimmicks appear as well. Players can dance from 4 to 20 songs consecutively in this mode. If the player changes the options to non-stop, they can keep dancing until their gauge is empty!

Essentially this mode is a cross between Battle Mode and Endless mode. Whether or not this is the unlock mode is up in the air, but I really doubt it.

They should go back to something like Stellar Master Mode. Even though that was hard, it offered some leeway for things like letting you use options and that special 2-player cheat. I liked also where it had some creativity in the game with PiX and the planets and all. It kind of let you do things on your own wheras other games have trials that are just too hard because of ridiculous options.

IDK, just my opinion. I just thought Dice Master Mode on X2 and that Mission Mode on Extreme were just too hard.

I think they should have something more like Street Master Mode. Sure the actual plot to it was meh, but I like how the challenges were more about accuracy than throwing in mods that make it so hard you need to almost memorize the chart to pass.
From my distant memories of seeing my friend play on the Quest Mode in DDR Ultramix 4, that looked pretty fun too.

Fuck YES! That would be even better! I loved Extreme 2 and everything about it. A revived Dance Master mode would be amazing!

I agree, I loved Dance Master Mode. Stellar Master Mode was pretty cool too. Wasn't so hot on Hyper Master Mode, but Street Master Mode was all right. But if I had to choose one, I sunk the most time and had the most fun with Dance Master Mode.

Dance Master mode was my second favorite, only to lose to the Mission Mode in Extreme US.

Maybe it was because it was the first mission mode I've ever played is what makes it so exciting for me, but I find myself coming back to that one more often than the others.

I dunno though, but Stellar Master mode was kinda cool too.

EDIT: Personally, I think the best unlock system would be to complete different conditions (kinda like Ultramix 2's unlocks) such as getting an AA, getting an AAA, getting an AA on a specific song, completing a certain song on all difficulties, completing a song with certain mods on, etc.

Dead
Extreme 2 was good mix, but I hated that mode. It just kept going on and on and on and on. That was the last game I completed the songlist on and it was the first version I bought (Non Wii wise that is).
Though then again, the challenges were at least completable. Some were pretty hard, but it at least they didn't go overboard with the mods. SN2's Hyper Master Mode was known for doing that. I completed the songlist, but not Hyper Master Mode. I gave up after it threw song after song at me with various difficult mods with high completion standards.

EDIT:

That would be an interesting addition actually. It would be nice to be offered an alternate way to unlocking songs.

Dance Master Mode was pretty cool too. They should bring back something like Stellar Master Mode or Dance Master Mode and maybe throw in a plot like in Street Master Mode. As long as they don't go on overload with the mods, than it will be fun.

That's kind of the same reason why I like Stellar Master Mode because SuperNOVA was my first and favorite game, and I kind of grew up with it.

"ugh..."
I love Stellar Mode in Supernova, it was very flexible. Dance Mode in Extreme 2 was annoying to me. xD But way better than Street Master mode. Oh lordy.

Looking back at that songlist video, it sounded like the announcer said the name of the song after he selected it. Either that, or there's just an announcer quote involving the word "Animal". Would be nice to learn the official pronunciation of .59, though.

Hottest Party 3 did this. I also liked how the announcer on X said the characters name as well.

I remember that. It was kind of interesting to hear the pronunciations.
On X, I didn't realize that Baby-Lon was Babi Lon.
I thought he pronounced Brilliant 2U wrong on HP3 though.
