In all fairness, X2 was a mighty tough act to follow.

Granted, in Japan it's like business as usual because they never got the chance to play the Wii 2010/2011 stuff.
Even so, it's a kick in the nuts that the hardest thing they made this mix is a 17 that isn't really even a 17. But we don't know what's in the OST. There could be more.
Although with the OST being 2 CDs instead of X2's 3, that seems unlikely.

Does Japanese cabinet is better than Asian version ?

Honestly does each mix have to have a more retarded chart than the last one?

For what its worth, U-san did say in a recent FROM STAFF blog post that there were still things coming to X3.

so far, we have already 55 songs in X3 database (Licensed, new K.O., CS imports and BEMANI crossovers).

It's still two months before the release of the OST.. I think we should keep the hype for the boss song up.

With the OST announced, we might at least see some interesting stuff.

I'm pretty sure boss songs that don't have challenge steps might get some soon, since SN1 it has been a tradition. I'd love to see Amalgamation get a harder Challenge chart, since it's X3 vs 2nd Mix's theme song.

Come on, you can make proper 17/18s without being shit-brained.Well, Konami are more successful at making good 17s than good 18s, but still.

Indeed.
What are the odds they'll include a bonus goody with preorders again? Not really sure what they could tack on, besides the 2nd mix soundtrack... again.
There are like... a couple neat songs on X3. A soundtrack with a bunch of long versions would be kinda nice. :0

Hmm, before X2 they hadn't put the licensed songs in the OST (SN, SN2, X). I suppose the cover songs may not be in there. Even if they omit all the licenses that only frees up 7 spots.

Still expecting something along the lines of Replicant D-Awesome in X3, hard to believe they wouldn't do something special aside from the standard EES system.

X2 has Replicant D-Action, X3 has 2ndMIX Mode. At this point I wonder if X4 will feature 3rdMIX or not...

DDR X2 is the only arcade game since the introduction of the Extra Stage system that has a separate mode for it. Everyone loved it, an homage to IIDX in a way, but Konami doesn't seem to feel pressured to keep it up throughout the series (They also devoted a lot of time and resources to making DDR 2ndMIX HD)...
...or the next unlock cycle will reveal that they wanted to keep it locked until the end of X3's lifespan. But that doesn't seem likely anymore.
