Also, Battlefield at 145bpm? Really?
I actually found it at 145 BPM too, so if you wanna see how it'd feel, you could try my stepchart of it. Post #3462 · Posted at 2010-08-14 12:32:38pm 14.9 years ago

Battlefield (Original) sucks, they should've used the Bimbo Jones Remix.

Wii Songlist
Though the song wheel went by fast, I'm very happy to see Love Shack/B-52s on the list.
Ow... Lady Gaga - Bad Romance.

If Konami choose Alejandro + original video BG......

In regards to the placement of judgement's, going by a couple of the screenshots on the official site it looks like it's only in Move Mode that you don't get the really noticeable judgement's. If you look at the pics of the regular gameplay, you can see PERFECT flashing on the screen in gigantic font. Maybe there's still hope?

I noticed that too. You can see those briefly in the Animal video too. Hopefully, that is a feature in the traditional gameplay.By the way (a somewhat silly question), does the PS3 version have traditional doubles?

The PS3 DOES show the timing in the background in a HUGE font, but it literally jumps all around the background. I think I've got a video of it I'll upload, it's a disaster.
edit: just realized its only for the motion notes
edit of my edit: it actually does look like it might be on normal notes too, I judged it too quickly, but it appears to be random when it does it.....?
judge for yourself

Someone keeps trying to add Owl City / Fireflies to the list of songs for DDR for the PS3 over on Wikipedia. Did I miss something?

Now DDR going 16+.

Which makes sense considering how sleazy Jenny looks on the X2 AC.
Haha DDR and alcohol just like that scene in that movie, Yes Man with Jim Carrey!

"On ZiV I'm like Princess Diana" |
Alright, so I've had a little bit of time to digest all the information and can give my impressions here:
The PS3 version certainly takes DDR in a new direction graphic-wise and it has it's strong and weak points. The background visuals I could see from the demo videos and the trailer seem to look really great, but the arrows could use a little spiffing up and we all know the problems with the judgment placement. I'm really curious as to whether this version will be customizable like the old trailer showed...
The licenses seem to be a really mixed bag here. My Life Would Suck Without You, Bad Romance, crushcrushcrush, and Animal are really great modern tracks to put in here and could make for some fun charts. From what I could see in the videos, it looks like maybe the license charts in this game will be better than X2/HP3's, but unfortunately we don't have a full video of a license chart, so we'll have to wait and see on that one. Battlefield is a good song, but I'm very curious how the chart will turn out. Love Shack is a really great oldies track to choose and I'll be playing it a lot more than the other choice, Celebration, which I find kind of lackluster given how often that song has appeared in music games.
Which brings me to the bad license choices. I'm Yours, Hey, Soul Sister, and I Got You. I REALLY have to question the sound team here. How any of these songs made it past the suggestion phase is really beyond me. These songs are not DDR-able at all and I expect their charts to be incomprehensible, off-sync patterns of "blech". Maybe I'll be proven wrong, but I seriously doubt it.
I'm also quite disappointed that the team appears to be set on making the license list 100% popular music and not throwing any bones to the fans. X2 AC has a great variety of popular songs and stuff thrown in for fans (Super Eurobeat/Cyber Trance stuff, Dancemania revivals) and Dance Masters has licensed Night of Fire, so I had hoped that there would be a few fan-licenses thrown in, but there is no trace of them so far.
Now onto the most promising parts of the games: the Konami originals. There is definitely a lot of variety here. We have new NAOKI, U1, and jun songs (and hopefully more to come!) along with commission artists like DKC Crew and even a song from J-Mi and Hanna Stockzell. The KO list is really looking great so far, and I hope it will be complimented by a lot of great selection of old songs (and maybe some X2 AC stuff?) in the DLC.
