To me, it sounds different enough from Amalgamation. I think it's perfect. Chart is also wonderful.

With the return of Edit Mode, could this possibly mean a CS release? Or is it like before where there was an online site?

IKR where is it? Though TBH I think they have ultimately givin' up on consoles. I'm not counting Dance Evolution or what ever the heck they've got going.

Just because they enable edit data doesn't mean they're going to make a new CS release. Edit data was in X3 and it was in 2013 for a while before they suddenly removed it.

I remember seeing Silverhawke post about how they are using DDR X CS JP as the base for edits from X - 2013/14. How is that possible if the game doesn't include any of the songs featured in X2 and beyond?

You will need sm files, MemCardRex and DDREditMAX2 for importing/exporting data before importing to DDR X1 JP PS2, to generate Edit USB files. If you don't have physical PS2, you can use PCSX2 emulator.

Afaik (for now), 1stMIX up to X, excluding FuruFuruParty songs, can be used. For X2, only HERO can be used. The rest from X2 up to 2014, nope.

& all thanks to Konami for banning all the new songs ID from X3 mid patch, DDREditMAX2 has been discontinued as it defeat the purpose of editing new songs & the new patch refuse to load it. Or else, all songs is possible.

Previously, everything is editable until Konami released a patch for X3 that disables the songs ddr_ray mentioned above. So if you manage to find some earlier versions of X3 or X2, you can get some edit data action going:


and the method is as described by razorblade. You'll need to go through lots of hoops though to get the edit data into DDR X CS.

Just hope that the DDR staff figures out a way to make edit data without DDR X CS... probably using iOS like jubeat... or web-based like NA/EU X/X2.

I regret having deleted my DDREditMAX2 with all X3 data included after the last update. What I have today is 53 X3 songs only.

On first batch of DDR2013, Konami disabled the edit data function too. Similiar with 2014 now. I guess they won't be doing much for the new songs
