Anyway, I'm hoping for some Club Mix songs as DLC.

Some people and I were talking through the stream chatbox and we decided we wanted Dj Nagureo, Quadra and Slake. Big Grin

I'm all for this. The American DDR versions barely have had any songs from CLUB MIX. The closest we got to that was KONAMIX, since it had about 5 songs from CLUB MIX. If they do include CLUB MIX songs as DLC, I think that they should re-do all of the stepcharts for any of the songs that they choose to include in this game, because they had some pretty awkward step patterns, mainly because stepcharts weren't always thought out very well back then.
The awkwardness is part of what I like about them. They're unusual, which is what makes them unique, if that makes sense. Some of the charts are really fun, I loved Patsenner because I actually felt like I was "in the groove of things" while playing.

Maybe add oni charts to some of them? Big Grin I know Patsenner deserves one definitely, not sure about some others though.

And by the way, DDRMAX US had more Club Mix songs. It had six I believe (5.1.1., Rugged Ash, Celebrate, Deep In You, 22dunk, Gambol)

I liked having Club Mix songs on Konamix and DDRMax, but Konami didn't make charts for 6-panel or Battle Mode, and their Doubles Maniac/Heavy charts were clones of the Trick/Standard ones. Either way, I hope they show up as DLC with completed charts.

Also, the Club Mix songs that DID receive Doubles Heavy charts are some of my all-time favorites.

Of all the Ke$ha's songs, they had to chose Animal? I guess it's because the others would've had a problem with the rating? Though it's not a bad song, I would've prefered Tik Tok or Take It Off. Also, Bad Romance was predictable, we probably won't see a DDR game without a GaGa song from now on! Then again, Telephone would've been my choice for her song.

"ugh..."
Well I won't really judge the new DDR PS3 game until I see some gameplay. But it looks pretty good to me so far. I'm really hoping for more old DDR songs. I guess I shall keep my fingers crossed!

That's true. And I agree, their "awkwardness" is what makes them special. I'm just saying that they should be re-done based on how stepcharts are now. For a while, I was even creating brand new steps for most of them for one of my simfile categories. I planned on re-stepping every song from the mix, but I never got around to finishing it.

Got back, the good news:
Got most of U1's and Jun's sets in Hi-Def. Naoki's I was out of space for Sad
Got the PS3 songlist (uploading now)
Jun is freaking cute
The bad:
Ran out of space on Naoki (sorry!), but at least there were a *lot* of people with camera's, someone's bound to have it
My hand was tired pretty fast and there's a lot of camera movement/changes, sorry in advance, did my best.

Overall, impressions:
DDR PS3:
Well, it's a good concept. I hate the arrowskin with a passion, something about it makes it harder for me to time. The judgement placement is really screwed up, they shouldn't have touched it. Songlist is mediocre and reminds me of X2 USA. The Move controls are just so-so and almost seem to control worse than the Wii. I certainly will not be using them. The BG displays were kind of cool and it was interesting being on screen. It honestly wasn't what I was hoping for I'm sorry to say, it was just decent.
DDR Wii:
Just feels like another HP. Characters look a bit better, songlist is almost identical to the PS3 sans the Jun feat NRG Factory song and a couple others. Not much to say about it really.
Dance Masters:
Holy crap is this hard. 6 songs in total, I don't remember what they all were, probably exactly the same as the E3 build. I specifically did Night of Fire, Kinect didn't really work that well at all.
DDR X2:
Didn't get a chance to play. At all. People hogged the machine the entire night.
U1:
Decent set I suppose, he is a great MC though. You can judge this for yourself.
Jun:
Loved it. Took some of her best work and mixed it all together all while using a Playstation Move as a rave stick.

Well, if you need to know anything else about the event, just ask Wink

Videos and Pics to come

The TV volume was too low to really get the audio.

"BEEJAY REVEL A"
What the? Back to the song wheel??
I was just starting to like the album art wheel

Also... why is the BPM ON the song wheel? IMO, it's not the best place to put it

Actually it's a combination of both. It shows the album art instead of a banner Surprised

We didn't really want the X2 coverflow-style song select screen. What we really wanted was a high-contrast ITG fan theme.

"On ZiV I'm like Princess Diana"
Hmm...

No challenge spot on the song wheel? That's worrying. Did the demo force you to play the dance'n move mode, or were you allowed to select free play as well?

Honestly I didn't get a chance to play around too much with it. I believe I did end up seeing one person playing without the PS Move, but the Konami reps were hoarding it the entire time encouraging us to play with it.

You know, now that I look at how this version looks, it makes me think of an alternate version of SuperNOVA, since it seems to have the red and black look.

Man, I really wish I was there! The U1, Jun, Naoki sets sounded hot. I was told by my contact that each set was called a 'stage' and that an announcer called out each stage and name. There was even a coin sound effect before the first one! Wow! Smile

First Stage: U1

Escape
Think Ya Better D
Flow -true style-

Final Stage: Naoki

Hit The Ground (Alexa Remix)
A Geisha's Dream (Naoki mixed it as he was playing it)
My Only Shining Star (Remix from Supernova V-Rare)

"On ZiV I'm like Princess Diana"
*sees that crushcrushcrush is an 8*

Holy crap, a well known song that's an 8 on MY recent DDR game? That's really surprising and encouraging me that the licenses here might not get butchered difficulty-wise.

Beginning to upload U1's set now. These are gonna take a while to get up (even compressed to 720p Divx), so hang tight. I also think I got that Jun song on the PS3 game as well. (The video itself sucks, but I had the camera right next to the TV speaker for the sole purpose of listening to the song later on Tongue)

I'm shocked about
Bad Romance
I'm Yours
And I Got You
I'm liking this but i really wanted the X2 cover flow like that showed in the trailer they made least year.
Let's hope you can still customize the theme. :/
