Basically, you guys are getting the game 2-3 days after we get DDR X...great...just great. I feel so sorry for guys across the Atlantic.

Yeah but at the very least it's usually worth it for the good exclusive licences we get. Personally I don't see how anyone can play a DDR game without at least one Steps, Sugababes, Kylie, Girls Aloud or similar licence in it. Those make the game extra fun.

If I'm wrong about the high likelihood of Girls and Babes licences being in this game there will be blood.

You know, I forgot about them, and the fact that most (if not all) of the songlist was revealed. Who knows what other licensed song you'll get, but we all know it's stupid for Konami of Europe to push back a game if Cara Mia's the ONLY new song there, especially since the US songlist was revealed through the EU version at (I think) the Leipzig Game Convention last year.

Actually, I'm all for more non-UK mainstream licences and more general European licences making it into our games. I love the stuff by Pandora, Alcazar, Ace Of Base and the like, it's just Cara Mia is such an odd choice as the only Euro-pop song to be added to the game that we know of. It also doesn't help that the screenshot of it's steps all those months ago revealed no BG video or lyrics at the time, which is even more pathetic if it really is the only extra we are getting.

Somehow I'm sure Konami must give us at least a few odd exclusive European licences surely? Even if it's just 10 added to the 10 or so they left in from the American version it's at least something.

Actually, yeah. Universe had that little known licence (Change Channel / Lo-Fi-FNK), and still had a pretty respectable list of licences. Didn't make up for the lack of Test Room, Cascada and Slam!, but it was something. I think we may hav a 20 licence mix (and about bloody time, too).

And just re-iterating a statement from at least a couple of years back to now by me: "Canned Heat. Now."

After you've said that it probably won't. Since when have Konami ever decided to actually see if certain songs are popular or not? They obviously didn't check the UK charts for the success of Everytime We Touch and thought "Meh, they won't like it so lets stick something else in".

But just make me wonder, previous songs like Girl just wanna have fun, Take on Me, Shout, etc aren't really good songs (Especially Shout - Lulu . Who wanna dance with terrible voices and undanceable tunes?) .

You DO realize those songs are at least 20 years old, right? Shout (in DS Max and SN US) is actually a cover, with the original by the Isley Brothers. While you're entitled to your opinion, I wouldn't mind dancing (and have danced) to these songs (except Lulu's "Shout", her voice is a bit grating).

I'm surprised that Cascada didn't end up in EU Universe. I would've expected that a European artist (group, in this case) would end up on the European version of an American game.

On a side note: who produces the Universe games? I thought Konami of Hawaii was disbanded.

I'm hazarding a guess that KONAMI of America is producing the Xbox division games now.

Yeah, I was quite pissed off we didn't get Cascada and got some rather random songs instead. Christ, if we don't get Can't Stop The Rain in DS SuperNOVA2, I will seriously wonder what they're smoking in the KONAMI London office.

The pattern is for a song to premiere on DS and appear on a non-analogous DDR game, or the other way around (against which this game is going, although these licenses have a different vibe from past US games). Everytime We Touch may appear on a future game.
