I can think of two level 19 PFC videos on YouTube right now done on a modded game with a solid black screen filter. As a matter of fact...


Plus, like I said, look at stuff done on StepMania/ITG by top players. If they have any control over it, they have no videos installed, use the hide background function, have the darkest filter Simply Love offers, etc. Yeah, the best players can still perform under pretty much any circumstance but you only have to look at how they play the game at home to see they don't want stuff going on in the background.

Edit: oh and I do agree with some of your points. It’s very much a spectator game and things like dancers and BG videos are cool to have. I would like to see Konami spice it up a bit. I think I’ve mentioned that I would love to have full screen videos back again.

Just played DDR World for the first time. I think there are 2 things that stood out to me that could be changed.

1. The beep sound when switching songs is super loud and harsh. It's not a big deal when selecting music, but everyone can heat it around the general area, and if two DDR cabs are next to each other, the noise can disturb the players.

2. The default characters being Emi for P1 and Rage for P2 is underwhelming. The art style is super cool, and I love how the screen filter matches the character. But there's really no way to pick other characters? I would genuinely pay like $20 in PASELI just to unlock access to a different character like Baby-Lon, Concent Be-Fu, Disco, or even Zero. Imagine how sick it would be if you could choose that character and it would change the screen filter and the results screen to match.

Other than that, I loved every aspect of DDR World. The filter menu is super helpful, and the speed mod additions was way overdue. It's also nice how it calculates the scroll rate for the slowest, main, and fastest parts of the song.

Also.I'm still figuring out the Flare stuff, but I definitely like trying to pass songs on Flare V and above.

Sooooo....I have a question about one of the titles. I know DDR has some unique and playful ways of titling their songs, but one of these kinda gives me the impression it's titled wrong.

Shouldn't Sweetin' Fruity be Sweet 'n Fruity?

I mean, if Sweetin' is how the artist truly wanted it titled, then okay.....but still....

The placement of the apostrophe makes it short for sweeting. I’m not sure if that’s intentional though because, as you pointed out, Konami.

Who touches grass? You might gets some ticks on you. I think you mean go outside. Touch grass saying makes no sense to me. It just sounds weird.

But I criticized the DDR WORLD announcer for not making any negative comments when you a E grade or are in the danger when your health bar is low on reddit and got bombarded for it on Reddit. It goes io show that if you say anything negative or say one bad thing about the game the DDR fans will go wild and attack you. These are the same type of fans that defended DDR X US Cab. Don't get me wrong I love DDR and the newest game but I can also make some takes about it when I think the game did something questionable. It's like you're not allowed to have a different opinion or you're considered evil. I had to delete my post on that subreddit because I was getting hit from all different directions like a UFC fighter losing in a ring.

I couldn’t agree with you more my friend. Reddit is probably the worst website to post on. Everyone is pretty much a brain dead on there. Yeah posting on Reddit is like declaring yourself an idiot. So I kinda regret making any post on Reddit when that website has the most misinformation and clowns on it.

First of all, that’s not what happened. You got clowned on for saying “DDR got soft” with DDR World and rightfully so since turning off Booing and negative comments has been a thing since the PS2 days. You basically pulled a “DDR went woke!” without saying “woke”, which is a sure fire way to get made fun of anywhere.

Second, saying anything positive about World, especially its interface, is one of the fastest ways to get downvoted on Reddit right now so don’t pretend you were “bombarded” for “criticizing” the game. Criticizing DDR World is the sub’s default setting.

Third, no one defends Raw Thrills cabs.

It's kind of hard to tell what kind of comments will set people off. I've never had a problem on Reddit so far.

I did get dogpiled in the Youtube comments of one of the new songs. Whichever one it is that has the 14 expert chart and the 12 challenge with shock arrows. I found it curious that they didn't just swap the two charts so the 12 was on expert and the 14 was on challenge, since Konami's no longer shy about putting shock arrows on difficulties besides challenge. For some reason just pointing this out was seen as me "whining about challenge charts" and I should just "take the free chart".

And way back in the DDR Facebook group I was apparently an idiot for hoping a DDR song might make it into Smash Ultimate, as if the game doesn't already feature songs from franchises that otherwise have no representation.

I am not a political person so I never called the game woke just soft. Fortnite did something similar with censoring Take the L and certain skins that were too scary to children. I just think the game is became Meta like Roblox. And I am talking about the arcade releases where the announcer is always forced. Console games don’t count. Let’s agree to disagree I ain’t gonna waste my time arguing online which leads to nothing in the end. I personally like DDR WORLD and go to my Round 1 to play it 3 to 4 times a week. If you wanna continue talking on the subject I will continue to ignore your comments pertaining to this sub topic. I said my piece and feel no need to further discuss this.

Why do you post there basically everyday or so then ? (You had like 5 accounts at some point.)
And ofc by posting more there is more chance that you'll get with an argument with someone (someone that could be an ass or not) but that's how things go.
But it's really really hard to take you seriously when i read the last sentences and at that time of my post your last post (not comment, i didn't even checked) on the DDR subreddit is from 4 hours ago.


Anyway, back on the World topic, did anybody saw the game pop-up outside an area that had already A3/gold cab ?
I'm still wondering if it's a real world release or just a random title and even if my hopes were really low to get this in EU all the good QoL changes (finally way better speedmods, more customisations, filters, etc.) and design changes that we got in this one gave me hope again.
So far from all the videos i saw the only complains i have (aside from "Can i just play the freakin game already ?") is that the gameplay screen looks too static/weird. Even having a still picture fullscreen (with dark filters on the gameplay field) would look better than just the same background and a very very tiny video in the middle. And ofc the "Why can't i just have an option to remove the announcer already ?". Just let me enjoy the music and focus on the steps already !
