That's fair, the group scene isn't for everyone. I do like the other side of the screen blank when I'm playing, but I love the group atmosphere, seeing other play styles, and hearing/seeing other songs than I would usually play (especially with the hundreds of songs available it's hard to jump in and pick from newer ones myself sometimes). If you're more introverted I could see the skill gap making that even harder to be part of.

I just downgraded from Outfox to the newest build of SM 5.1 and I'm having a major issue. Ever since the downgrade, the last 26 songs that had stepfiles in my DDR XXTREME folder would not show up on the song select screen, despite having graphics, an audio file and SM/SSC files. Furthermore, these songs would not show their graphics on the Edit Mode menu. The last eight songs that had graphics and audio but no SM/SSC files also did not show their graphics in Edit Mode. When I tried to select one of these songs, it said that there was no music file. However, the folder in my PC's File Explorer showed that there clearly was a music file. So, I deleted all 34 folders and redownloaded the 26 that already had steps. Out of all twenty-six files that I downloaded again, the twenty-four that are linked throughout this sentence all failed. These were the only two that worked. What the fuck is going on?

Did you copy over your cache folder when you upgraded from Outfox to 5.1? I've had issues with copying the cache folder over from version to version and reload songs and courses won't find changes.

I remember having a problem with SM 5.1 in June of 2021 when I tried to play it with a USB pad. For whatever reason, when I started a song, the game would prematurely take me to the results screen about 15 seconds in.
EDIT: Forgot to mention some specific details:
- I was using a USB pad that's intended to work with the DDR UNIVERSE games.
- Yes, I had the Axis Fix setting on.

A little update on my Stepmania fiasco: It turns out that the 24 downloads that "failed" do have their audio files and their graphics do show up in Edit Mode. However, their steps are blanked.

When you open the .sm files in note pad is there anything in them besides the title, artist, bpm, etc.? Like any difficulties, and if so are they dance, pump, etc.? Like maybe they were pump files auto gening dance steps? The SM and/or SSC files have data for dance steps, and only dance steps, in there.

Every time July comes around, it don't get any easier. Almost 11 years since my dad passed away. Still feels like the day after sometimes. I wonder if he'd be proud of me and how far I've come.
