I think with new songs, Konami may set a rating for the song before the charts are created and it's up to the charter to make a chart that's rated what they set.
I heard that that is apparently what they do now, and I think it's pretty retarded.

I agree. It's like when you rate a song a 10 out of 10 (based on the song) BEFORE you've heard it, and then you'll find it you don't like it at all.

That's how it has ALWAYS been with Konami. The stepartists are given the song and told which levels they want each difficulty to be and they have to step according to those levels.

"Killing multi-colored snails!"
I think that's what they did with songs like Chikara and Knock Out Regrets and Mugen.

Well, that's what God made ITG for. We make our own charts to their REAL difficulties.

I'm disappointed in DDR X though. It's all remixes. I know it'll never be done but we need a Cameo Appearance release: All popular music icons. Japanese, American, and English music idols! Tiesto, anybody?

Excuse me while I go vomit.

One cool thing BEMANI has been doing lately is doing collaborations with some licensed artists. TERRAxDaisuke Asakura, NaokixSMiLE.dk, and NaokixMELODY & MEZZO.

Sorry if what I'm asking is common knowledge, but what's a Tiesto and why are people suddenly rushing to the bathroom upon hearing said word?AnnoyedOopsQuestion MarkNeutral
Music is always running in my mind... Everyday, songs old and new come to mind.
...
I wonder how a DJ Hero-esque mix of an AFRONOVA medley and Fascination MAXX would sound...

Don't feel bad, I've got no clue either. Googling it now, though.

You know what I miss? Trivial, but I miss the little song icons that would say "Konami Original" or "Dancemania EX" when you went on a song. It may not seem important, but it's the little things like that which made DDR so good Tongue

What versions would they say "You have good taste in music."?

That's how it has ALWAYS been with Konami. The stepartists are given the song and told which levels they want each difficulty to be and they have to step according to those levels.
Which is not a bad idea, but they should only do this to give a general idea, and then if the stepwriter wants to bump it up or down a little, they can.

Hell, ratings change all the time, so it's not like it's a big deal, anyway.

...unless it's REALLY crazy, like a crazy example would be to take MAX 300 and set it up as a 15 or a 9 rather than it's original rating.

That would explain how Mind Parasite went from 6 in SN2 to 13 in X.Smile

Even though Mind Parasite is actually 3/6/8. It had Monkey Punk's ratings (4/5/6) in unpatched SN.

Not sure, but I think all versions from 3rd to 5th said this. I know that 4th mix (and Konamix) said this.

no. mind parasite had the 6 rating in ultramix, and they used those step ratings despite using the festival step charts. ULTRAMIX CONTENT IS NOT NEW.
