I'm actually more fond of how instantaneous discord is. It makes it easier to hold a conversation, plus I find it easier to ask questions in whatever respective channel.

From my personal experience, most FG character discords should have a general area, plus an area for metagame stuff. I lurk in a few of them for Smash and only really ask questions in the meta channels when I need. They also skew rather progressive, and any server in the way you describe probably doesn't have a good reputation among that game's greater communuty.

Forum culture dying is kinda lame though.

I absolutely agree with how it's killing off wiki/forum culture and how it tends to just be circlejerking. I tend to be really conservative with how many servers I'm in at once, so it's really frustrating to see so many forums migrating to discord servers that I'll never post in 95% of the time, especially when said servers pull shit like forcing a post quota in order to access download links, for example.

The other issue I have with discord that not many people today realize is how sterile and interchangeable each server is, compared to the potential loads of customization forums can have. The best example I can come up with is probably the user pages on the FlashFlashRevolution forums; you can make those look really one-of-a-kind with the effort.

The only difference with your post is that I don't like discord, and yet I'm forced to use it.

That’s definitely on the cusp of 14 but 13 isn’t really a lie. I wouldn’t really argue with either number considering what some of the 13s and 14s look like. I know it doesn’t really answer the question but I wouldn’t say either rating would be wrong.

I’ve been playing DDR again for 3 weeks now and man some of these songs are a lot harder than I remembered.

I got an A on Konoko.
I got an A on Sakura.
I made it to the stop in Max300 with 570k.

Not my best scores ever but given my weight and how long I’ve been at it I’m pleased with them. Today I had to walk off the pad at 488k about halfway through Cartoon Heroes (I have it set to play through to the end on fail so my kids can enjoy it and I barely had more notes hit than misses on the results screen after the walk off). I would like to formally offer a written apology to everyone I ever made fun of for saying that song was harder than some 10’s back in the day. Holy crap that song is something else.

On May 17th, for the second time in the UK, it's back to the arcade.

I’m not even sure where an arcade is here that would have DDR. All the D&Bs here have Pump, and the place I used to go back in the day doesn’t have theirs anymore, at least not last time I went. I just play at home. At 300 pounds I’m not sure I want to play in public anyway.
