Played it. Really terrible at it. It's cool but it's not my thing. I understand it's like the basis for everything I love now (DDR) in terms of the music and even as a rhythm gaming establishment, but yeah.

I'm pretty sure everyone sucks at IIDX the first time they played. TBH, I only get good at these games because I have controllers/dancepads at home and simulators for DDR and IIDX, but that's just out of necessity. I don't actually have the privilege in living in a town with a good arcade (Or living in a state with DDR A or any good IIDX machine...), but I try my hardest.

I understand if it's not your thing. But if you haven't played any of the other Bemani games (Jubeat, Reflec Beat, SDVX, pop'n, etc.), and you're a big fan of rhythm games and DDR's music, I highly recommend them. (You can download Reflec Beat and Jubeat on tablet devices, and I found a pop'n cabinet when I was in Hawaii recently- But I don't know where to find a SDVX machine anywhere)

The "Chinatown Fair" arcade in New York City has SDVX. I played it there. It's actually a lot easier than it looks.

SDVX is one of those games that are easy to learn, but hard to master kind of games. Once you get to the 15+ range (using the current difficulty scale), it starts getting ridiculous.

I've playd IIDX at least 4 times. Loooove the 'record scratch', but yeah. Anyways the other games I've played that I liked were Sound Voltex and Musica. There was also this one game that WASN"T Bemani that was pretty fun, it was at a Round 1.

I try all Bemani games as I see them. Nothing has moved me like DDR, but some are pretty cool for sure.

After almost a decade, I still suck at IIDX. I enjoy playing it, but I can't go beyond 5s and 6s. I think it's a coordination thing, and some of us are not that coordinated lol.

Also suggest Pop'n Music too, if you're into the anime-esque segment of DDR. It's sort of like IIDX, but without the turntable and it has 9 big buttons.

Any status on DDR A simfiles? Being back home, I don't know when I'll make it out to the bay to play again.

By the time KAC arrives, we could expect a major announcement for DDR A.
and by announcement i mean more dubstep hardcore denpa songs ft. U1 overground
I do hope DDR A does not go the way of DDR 2014, with the lack of updates and bland music selection, but it seems it's heading that way.

people are rating you down because you're derailing the thread and talking about an entirely different topic. this shit's frowned upon in any forum, so i don't see why it's suddenly a surprise.

Sigrev2 (AnonyWolf) once called me out on this myself once, but I would appreciate it if you could stick to quoting whichever post was last in the quote chain, unless you really need them for your post. Otherwise, it takes too much unnecessary space and crowds up the page.

By that, I mean, you could have just had it like this:

It feels like there aren't that many Bemani artists left at Konami anymore.

Yeah, there really hasn't been much of an update in the last three weeks. We're all waiting on clean audio and stuff.

If there's anything I noticed during my short time here, it was that people were skeptical and always expected things to go downhill and never go back again, to be met with pleasant surprises later. For one, many of us were expecting really shitty Western licenses and completely lackluster charts to go with them, after seeing how poor quality the charts were for the "Christmas presents" and Konami's history of licensed charts. They turned out to be much better than any one of us predicted. So let's keep our hopes up for the time being.

Actually I posted about my love of DDR's soundtrack. Then someone said "You need to play IIDX". I responded.

But whatever, rate me down some more. So fucking ridiculous.

DDR is dope but I've gotten nothing but hostility from here since I joined. I think I misquoted someone in a StepMania thread and my rating went from like 11 points to -17. The downvote : upvote ratio is fucking ridiculous. I don't want to be part of 'your club' if this is what you do. I can just go to reddit and talk about DDR there. I didn't realize this place was so fucking ridiculous.

Maybe that's why the main forum feels so dead? Because people downvote the hell out of people? This is a thread with 168 pages and discussion is inevitable. Talking about the soundtrack for DDR and where it came from (IIDX) is definitely on-topic, even if it twists your panties in a bunch.

IF I RECALL CORRECTLY you were the bro that scolded me for starting a thread ABOUT DDR. Are you a mod here or something? WHy are you always scolding people? Whatever.

lol, Hobbes. Don't let it get to you.
There isn't much to talk about anyway.

Some people just want to feel like they add anything to the thread by going "hey, lets get back on topic over a game that hasn't gotten content in a while...".

HOLY SHIT A CONVO ABOUT THE POINTS SYSTEM
I THOUGHT WE COULD GO A WEEK WITHOUT ONE
BUT HERE WE ARE

1 - Points don't matter.
2 - That's really not a large point drop. Points can fluctuate even if people don't rate you.
3 - Points don't matter.
4 - It wasn't AnonyWolf who negged you. I'm a mod and can see these things.
5 - Les points n'ont pas d'importance.
